Central Railway is one of the 18 zones of Indian Railways. Its headquarters is in Mumbai at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. It has the distinction of operating first passenger railway line in India, which opened from Mumbai to Thane on 16 April 1853.

(UPRVUNL) is a progressive & fast expanding state thermal power generation undertaking having an installed capacity of 3933 MW for thermal generation and proposing to double it within next five years. UPRVUNL is also in joint venture with NTPC in the field of thermal generation and with other states in development of coal mines. On the other hand UP Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (UPJVNL) is a state Hydel generation undertaking having an installed capacity of 526.5 MW for hydro electric generation and proposing to expand by another 100 MW within next three years.
