The institute was established as Regional Research Institute (Ayurveda) on February 19, 1981 as peripheral unit under the Central Council For Research in Ayurveda and Siddha (CCRAS) and started functioning along with the facilities of OPD, IPD and Mobile Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) Pathology and Bio chemistry Laboratory at Lucknow. The institute was upgraded and renamed as Central Research Institute (Ayurveda) on February 1997 by merging various units.

Established in 1889, the Indian Veterinary Research Institute IVRI is one of the premier research institutions dedicated to livestock research and development of the region. The institute with faculty strength of more than 275 has a major mandate of research, teaching, consultancy and technology transfer activities. The institute with its long scientific heritage has always enjoyed a certain prestige, a tradition all of its own. The institute imparts quality post-graduate education to students not only from various parts of the country, but also from overseas.

Banaras Hindu University ranks among the first few in the country in the field of academic and research output. National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education Research, Guwahati (NIPER-G) is an autonomous institute of National importance and the first national pharma institute in NE India set up by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India by an act of parliament, to impart high quality Education & Research in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.

Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy is a branch of Acharya Institutes (www.acharya.ac.in) which is spread over 120 acres of Wi-Fi-enabled campus. The institute is ARIIA ranked organization; DSIR recognized Scientific and Industrial Research Organization; accredited by NBA, NAAC, and LSSSDC; affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka; and approved by AICTE and PCI. Having D. Pharm, B. Pharm, M. Pharm (six specializations), and Ph.D.

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, BITS Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education. ICMR-NARI is located at Bhosari, Pune on a seven acre plot. Since its inception the Institute has ably supported the National AIDS Control Programme, especially in the areas of surveillance, capacity building, laboratory services and drug resistance studies. ICMR-NARI derives strength from wide ranging National and International Collaborations.  The Institute's research activities are guided by a Scientific Advisory Committee which includes eminent scientists from varied disciplines.
