Oriental College of Pharmacy (OCP) was established in 2004 with the main idea to provide and promote professional education and research in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This institution is promoted by Smt. Shakuntala Devi Thakral Education Society, Bhopal. It is an ISO 9001,2008 certified institution for providing quality education. The mission is to develop the institute as a Center of Excellence in emerging areas of pharmacy and to bring about total quality in professional education.

The AIIMS, New Delhi model will be adopted and adapted. Unlike the Postgraduate Institutes which lack the basic departments like Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, General Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology etc, the new AIIMS will have these departments as well as the superspecialty departments like neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, urology, endocrinology etc.

The establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at New Delhi in 1956 was a dream project of first Prime Minister of India, Shri Jawahar Lal Nehru  and this was executed by first Health Minister of India Mrs.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development , which is now known as Ministry of Education, Government of India has established the National Testing Agency as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act for conducting efficient, transparent and international standards tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admissions to premier higher education institutions.
