The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) at S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) was created as a centre of excellence in imparting higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences and is the first Institute of its kind in the country.

Applications are invited for the positions of Research Scholars in the Department of Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The research scholars will get an opportunity to work in the following areas under externally funded R&D projects worth Rs. 15.0 crores, including prestigious ones such as a DBT programme support under Centers of Excellence & Innovation in Biotechnology, DBT RGYI, DST-FIST, etc. in addition to DRDO, MoEF, ICMR funded.

One Junior Research Fellow is will be required for the project entitled “Enhancement of radiation induced oxidative stress in Human hepatocellular carcinoma cells by Ellagic Acid” funded by University Grants Commission ( For 1 Year, extendable only on evaluation) in the Department of Physiology, University of Calcutta under the supervision of Sanjit Dey, Associate Professor, Department of Physiology.

One Junior Research Fellow will be required in the Department of Physiology, University of Calcutta for the project entitled “Beneficial effect of Tea Extract against Smokeless Tobacco induced oral mucosal damage: Toxicological assessment”. The research fellowship is initially for one year, extendable only on evaluation.

Applications are invited for one post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) to work under the project entitled “Development and Characterization of Microsatellite markers in M. pruriens- A medicinally and agronomically important legume spp.” funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.
