Applications in the prescribed form are invited from Indian nationals for direct recruitment through written test/interview for filling up 60 posts of Scientist-B in PB-3 (Rs.15600-39100) + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400 in Medical and Non-medical fields at its Institutes/Centres located in different parts of India. The number of vacancies may vary. Details of each category of posts in respect of Institutes/Centres, may be seen in attached Annexure-I. Written test will be conducted at New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, on a date to be intimated later. These posts carry all India service liability and the selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India or abroad by the Competent Authority.

The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963. The Institute was originally under the Government of undivided Punjab. After the reorganization of the state, the administrative control of the institute passed on to the Union Territory of Chandigarh in November 1966.  The Institute became an autonomous body under the Act of Parliament in 1967 functioning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center (UNMICRC) is a Grant-in-aid cardiac institute promoted by Government of Gujarat in Ahmadabad, Gujarat. The institute is affiliated to B J Medical College, Civil Hospital Campus (Medicity), Asarwa which is a Government Medical College. We currently have 450 beds that includes a state-of-the-art 250 bed cardiac unit with 4 Cardiac Flat Panel Cathlab (Including Hybrid Cath Lab with Cardiac OT), and 5 Cardiac Operation Theater including a Pediatric OT and a Thoracic OT with most advanced medical equipment.

Gujarat state is one of the highly industrially developed states in the country. Being an industrialized state, migration of laborers from various parts of India is very high. Mobility and migration of people make them more vulnerable, as a result of separation from spouse and release of social sanctions, leading to high-risk sexual practices and consequently they may contract HIV, which in turn is carried to their spouses and to their children. On the one hand, with an increase in urbanization most of the societies are in transition and the young population is under less social restraint. On the other hand, lower literacy level of rural women, especially in the state and local customs & traditions make women more vulnerable to the infection. Large numbers of women suffer from reproductive tract infections (RTIs), which are mainly due to poor sexual hygiene especially during menstruation and sexually transmitted infections from their spouses.

Interviews will be held at the below mentioned addresses for selection/waiting list of the following contractual posts at following ART centers under NACP III. The selection/ waiting list remain valid for a period of one year or till another advertisement published whichever is earlier. All these appointments are purely contractual for a period of 11 months at the fixed remuneration mentioned.
