Saveetha College of Pharmacy (SIMATS), Chennai, jointly in collaboration with the Indian Pharmaceutical Graduates' Association (IPGA) successfully organized a webinar titled “Pharmacy – World of Opportunities” on May 4, 2026. 

The session primarily focused on career opportunities in the specialized domain of Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance. Shri. Vijayabhaskar Reddy Annapareddy, reputed, renowned, global pharmacy leader and highly qualified pharmacovigilance expert, as resource person highlighted the critical role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring patient safety through the detection, assessment, understanding, and prevention of adverse drug reactions. Emphasis was placed on the growing demand for skilled professionals in areas such as adverse event reporting, signal detection, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Shri. Vijayabhaskar Reddy Annapareddy as subject expert provided insights into career pathways within pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations (CROs), and regulatory agencies. Sir also discussed essential competencies required in this field, including data analysis, clinical knowledge, regulatory awareness, and proficiency in pharmacovigilance databases.
An interactive session enabled participants to clarify queries related to training, certifications, and career progression in drug safety. The webinar witnessed active participation from students and professionals, making it a valuable platform for focused career guidance.
