Research Fellowships under DBT funded project at NIBMG

BRIC-National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) Kalyani is an Institute of Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology. The Institute has created the necessary physical infrastructure and critical platform technologies to support research, translation and training in biomedical genomics. Applications are invited for the position of Project Linked Person for extramural projects to be executed by the BRIC-National Institute of Biomedical Genomics, Kalyani. Selected applicants will be appointed initially for one year. The tenure of appointment may be extended depending on performance and availability of funds.

Job Description : Should be capable of carrying out cell biology experiments in human cells, animal models, biochemistry, molecular biology and imaging.

Consolidated Remuneration [INR] Per Month : Rs 58,000 + 27% HRA for RA Rs.37,000/+27% HRA for JRF Rs. 42,000/+27% HRA for SRF (As per DST guidelines)

Essential Qualifications : For RA-1 Ph.D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/M. Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
Age Limit : The upper age limit is 40 years for male candidates and 45 years in the case of female candidates as on the last date of application For JRF – Post-Graduate degree in Basic Science (Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology), etc. Candidates must have cleared national-level screening tests recognized by Central Government Departments/Agencies Age limit : Generally, up to 28 years (relaxations apply for reserved categories, women, and PH candidates as per Govt. of India rules).
For SRF – Research Experience : Minimum of 2 years of documented research experience as a JRF or equivalent research position in a recognized institution or R&D project.
Age Limit : Generally, up to 32–35 years (with category relaxations

Desirable Qualifications : General requirement for RA-1/SRF/JRF: Evidence that candidate has worked on human cells, animal models, biochemistry, molecular biology and imaging. Additional requirement RA-1 Must have at least one first author publication during PhD work on cancer biology. Additional requirement for SRF Should show evidence of having worked for at least 1 year on cancer biology during or post Masters. Additional requirement for JRF Should show evidence of having worked for at least 6 months on cancer biology during or post Masters.

Nature of Duty : The candidate will be expected to do animal experiments, cell biology, molecular biology and biochemical assays in labs of collaborators outside NIBMG from time to time.

If no suitable RA candidate is found, a qualified SRF/JRF will be selected. This position is contractual, and appointments will be initially for one year, which is extendable depending upon performance and requirements of the project.
