Connect, Present, and Inspire for Students, Research Scholars, and Academicians

The Department of Pharmacy Practice, SIMATS College of Pharmacy, Chennai, in collaboration with the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) and IPA Tamil Nadu State Branch, successfully conducted a Five-Day Virtual Poster Showcase (VPS 2026) from April 6–10, 2026. The event, held via Google Meet, aimed to promote research aptitude and scientific communication among students and early-career academicians.

A total of 128 participants presented e-posters across 10 categories and 21 subject areas, showcasing diverse research in pharmaceutical and allied health sciences. The event began with an inaugural ceremony attended by distinguished dignitaries Dr. Roop Narayan Gupta (National President - IPA), Dr. Subash C Mandal (National Secretary – IPA), Shri J. Jayaseelan (President – IPA Tamil Nadu State Branch). The organizing committee: Dr. Ramaiyan Velmurugan (Principal – SIMATS College of Pharmacy, Chennai), Dr. Rathinavelu Mohanraj (Program Coordinator, Chair SSC – VPS 2026, EC Member IPA Hospital Pharmacy Division, and Associate Professor, SIMATS College of Pharmacy, Chennai), and Program Chair Dr. R. Thirumalaikumaran (Head, DoP’Cog, SIMATS College of Pharmacy, Chennai) and Dr. Bhavya Ekambaram (Head, DoPP, SIMATS College of Pharmacy, Chennai), whose inspiring addresses motivated participants.

A major highlight was the well-structured evaluation process, comprising 19 slots and 19 expert evaluators who assessed presentations based on scientific merit and presentation quality. Interactive feedback sessions enriched participants’ learning experience.
The event concluded with a valedictory session in presence of Guest of Honor, Dr. T. Satish (Hon. Gen. Secretary – IPA Tamil Nadu State Branch), including recognition of winners and distribution of e-certificates. Overall, the showcase was a great success, fostering academic excellence, knowledge exchange, and research engagement. The Five-Day Virtual Poster Showcase was highly successful in promoting research culture and academic excellence. It enhanced presentation skills, encouraged collaboration, and strengthened scientific engagement.
