The Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology is one of the National Institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research which is an autonomous body. It is located on a 250 acres of land with the backdrop of snow-covered peaks of Dhauladhar Range in salubrious climate. The Institute is engaged in research and technology development programmes for sustainable management of bioresources of the Himalayas. The Institute has successfully carried out mission-oriented projects on tea, temperate floriculture and aromatic plants and is well equipped for Tissue culture and Biotechnology. Facilities include Tea Processing Unit, FRP greenhouses and equipments like GC-MS, FT-IR, Ultrascan, Automated DNA sequencers, Phosphoimager, Q-TOF, XL Laser densitometer, HPLCs, MALDI-TOF, CONFOCAL MICROSCOPY, C02 Extractor, FPLC, HP-TLC, IRGA, NMR, Scintillation counter, computer networking etc.

Application are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts :-

Post No. 1: Scientist Gr.IV (2)-Veterinary Pathology (01 Post-UR)
Essential Qualifications and Experience: Ph.D. in Veterinary Pathology with one year experience.
Desirable : Experience in clinical, histological and regulatory aspects.
Job Requirement: Clinical and Histopathological studies as per GLP norms.

Post No. 2: Scientist Gr. IV(2)-Animal Breeding & Genetics (01 Post-SC)
Essential Qualifications and Experience: Ph.D. in Animal Breeding & Genetics/Animal Biotechnolgy /Medical sciences with one year experience.
Desirable : Working experience in animal facility of R&D institutions, knowledge of GLP, CPCSEA veterinary medical ethics, laboratory animal techniques and animal welfare regulations, training in laboratory animal medicine, knowledge of breeding and rearing of small laboratory animals.
Job Requirement : Management and veterinary medical services to experimental animal species, scientific breeding practices with production and development disease specific and modified animal models, conducting genetic characterization of laboratory animal species and strains and their quality control measures (rodents, rabbits and guinea pigs).

Post No. 3: Scientist Gr. IV(2)-Food Science/Food Engineering (01 Post-UR)
Essential Qualifications and Experience: Ph.D. in Food Science/Food Technology with one year experience OR M.Tech in Food Engineering/Bioengineering with two years experience in the relevant area.
Desirable : Working experience in processing and development of Food and Nutraceuticals products.
Job Requirement : Development of functional foods and nutraceuticals, evolving techniques for high through-put quality test of food and related products.

Post No.4:   Scientist Gr. IV(2)-Toxicologist/Biochemist (01 Post-UR)
Essential Qualifications and Experience: Ph.D. in Biochemistry/Toxicology/Animal cell culture screening with one year experience in the relevant area.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in in vivo experimental systems with small animals and in vitro systems for screening of molecules/products for their safety as evidenced by publication in refereed journal.
Job Requirement : To carry out toxicological studies of food, nutraceutical or cosmeceutical products under in vitro and in vivo conditions.

Post No. 5:   Scientist Gr. IV(2)-Pharmacology (01 Post-UR)
Essential Qualifications and Experience : Ph.D. (Pharmacology/Life Sciences/ Biotechnology) with one year experience in the area of pharmacology.
Desirable : Candidate should have experience in tools and techniques employed to undertake in vivo experiments with small animals for systematic bioevaluation and studies on molecular mechanism of actions of lead compounds used in human nutrition/food/herbal products as evidenced by publication in refereed journal.
Job Requirement: To actively participate in the bioevaluation of synthetic/natural molecules for human nutrition/food/herbal products.

Post No. 6: Scientist Gr. IV(2)-Computational biology/bioinformatics(01 Post-UR)
Essential Qualifications and Experience: Ph.D. Computational biology/Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology OR related area with one year experience in the area of computational biology.
Desirable : Experience in structural bioinformatics, molecular modeling, drug discovery as evidenced by publication in refereed journal.
Job Requirement: To conduct research in the area of Integrative network biology and structural bioinformatics.

Post No.7:   Sr.Technical Officer(1) Gr.- Ill (4) Chemistry (01 Post-UR)
Essential Qualifications and Experience : 1st Class B.Sc. with (Chemistry) as one of the subjects with eight years experience OR M.Sc. with minimum of 55% marks in Organic/Analytical/Pharmaceutical Chemistry OR equivalent recognized qualifications with six years experience.
Desirable : Working knowledge in handling of sophisticated instruments like NMR/LCMS-MS for analysis of natural/synthetic molecules.
Job Requirement: Analysis and characterization of natural and synthetic organic molecules.

Post No.8:   Sr.Technical Officer(1) Gr. Ill (4) Agronomist (01 Post-OBC)
Essential Qualifications and Experience : 1st Class B.Sc. (Agriculture/Horticulture) with eight years experience in the area of agronomy OR M.Sc.(Agronomy/Horticulture) with minimum of 55% marks with six years experience in the area of agronomy/crop production.
Desirable: Experience of raising nursery,domestication,development of agropractices of plantation crops.
Job Requirement : Laying of agronomical trials and recording of data. Assisting in development of agrotechnology package of targeted crops.

Post No.9: Sr.Technical Officer(1)Gr. Ill (4) Food Processing/Food Technology (01 Post-UR)
Essential Qualifications and Experience : BE/B.Tech in Food Science/Food Technology Or M.Sc. Food/Nutraceutical or related field with minimum of 55% marks with 6 years experience in the relevant area.
Desirable: Knowledge in the area of food processing.
Job Requirement : Development of functional foods and nutraceuticals and upscaling of technologies.

Post No.10: Technician (1) Group II (1) Knowledge Management (01-Post-UR) PH (Hearing Impairment)
Essential Qualifications and Experience "SSC/10th standard with science subjects with 55% marks plus ITI certificate or national/state trade certificate in data entry and computer applications OR 2 years full time experience as an apprentice training from a recognized Institution in the relevant trade.
Desirable: Sound knowledge of computer applications.
Job Requirement: Maintenance of data bases for knowledge management.

Pay Scale and Age:
1.  Scientist Gr.IV(2) Pay Band of Rs. 15600-39100 with G.P. Rs.6600 in PB 3 35 years
2.  Sr.T.O.(1) Gr.lll(4) Pay Band of Rs. 15600-39100 with G.P. Rs.5400 in PB 3 35 years
3.  Technician(1)Gr.ll(1)Pay Band of Rs.5200-20200 with G.P.Rs.1900 in PB 1 28 years

GENERAL CONDITIONS:
1. Applicant should be Indian National.
2. The required minimum qualification should be in the area mentioned against each post and should be from recognized Universities/Institutes.
3. The essential experience wherever prescribed should be in the relevant area/field mentioned against each post.
4. The date for determining age/experience/qualifications shall be the closing date of receipt of applications.
5. The period of experience in a discipline of area of work wherever prescribed, shall be counted after the date of acquiring the prescribed minimum educational qualifications.
6. 7. The above post shall carry usual allowance as admissible to Central Government employees, as have been made applicable to CSIR employees of the same status stationed at Palampur. Higher initial basic pay be considered for exceptionally meritorious and deserving candidates.
8. Relaxation of upper age limit of five years in the case of Group IV Scientists may be allowed to the employees of Council/Central/State Government/Autonomous Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings in accordance with the instructions and orders issued by the Government of India from time to time in this regard.
9. Relaxation of upper age limit for Ex-Servicemen and PH candidates will be applicable as per Govt, of India orders.
10. Relaxation of upper age limit is admissible upto 5 years to the SC and upto 3 years of the OBC candidates only in those cases where the posts are reserved for the respective categories.
11. Relaxation of upper age limit of 5 years applicable for persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of J&K during the period of 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 subject to production of a certificate from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction he/she had ordinarily resided Or from any other authority designated in this behalf by the Government of J&K state to the effect that he/she had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of J&K during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.
12. Candidates belonging to SC/OBC/PH should enclose a certificate in the prescribed form issued by the competent authority in support of their claim.
13. Candidates applying for more than one post should submit separate application form for each post indicating clearly the advertisement number and serial number of the post accompanied by separate application fee.
14. An application fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One hundred only) non-refundable is payable (Candidates belonging to SC/PH, and regular employees of CSIR are exempted from payment of application Fee) in the form of crossed Demand Draft with validity of six months, in favour of Director, Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, and payable at Palampur (Himachal Pradesh).
15. The candidates working in Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies and Government funded research agencies should apply through proper channel and attach a certificate that there is no vigilance case pending against him/her. However, candidates may send an advance copy of the application alongwith requisite fee (wherever applicable) before the last date of receipt of application.
16. Relaxation in age, qualification and/or experience may be permitted in case of exceptionally meritorious/deserving candidates with the prior approval of the Competent Authority.
17. Outstation Candidates (within India) called for interview will be paid to and fro ordinary second class rail fare/ordinary bus fare for attending the interview from the place of their residence or nearest railway station/bus stand or actual place of undertaking the journey, whichever is nearest to the place of interview.
18. Candidates must indicate as to whether any of their blood/close relatives is working in IHBT or any other National Labs./lnstt. of the CSIR.
19. Selected Candidates shall be liable to serve in C.S.I.R. Labs/lnstt. anywhere in India.
20. Applications received after the due date or without attested copies of certificates or application fee or incomplete in any manner shall not be considered.
21. Mere fulfilling of essential educational qualifications and experience will not vest any right in a candidate for being called for interview. Applications will be short¬listed and decision of the Competent Authority shall be final.
22. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing any influence political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for the post.
