This Institute started as “Occupational Health Research Institute” (OHRI) in the year 1966 and was re-christened as “National Institute of Occupational Health” (NIOH) in 1970 presently located in the Eastern part of Ahmedabad. Two Regional Occupational Health Centers (ROHCs) were started at Bangalore in 1977 and at Kolkata in 1980.
Candidates who have passed the national written test like UGC-CSIR NET (Lectureship or JRF), BET, ICMR EXAM (JRF- PROJECT)/BET may appear for the walk-in-interview on 24–07–2012 at 11 A.M. for the post of Junior Research Fellow in the project entitled “Long term effect of arsenic exposure on placental vasculogenesis in mice”. This project is under DBT’s Twinning programme for the North Eastern Region, Agartala Medical College, Agartala, and another post of Senior Research Fellow (one) in DST sponsored project “ Environmental and occupational exposure and male reproductive function” in the Department of Reproductive and Cyto-toxicology of the institute. The post is purely temporary and coterminus with the project.
Post :Junior Research Fellow (One) DBT Project
Pay(Rs) : Rs. 16000 + 10% HRA * Candidates without national test can also be considered for JRF (Rs. 12000+ 10%HRA)
Qualifications & Experience :
Essential: Masters in Zoology/Biochemistry / Molecular biology/ Biotechnology or equivalent degree with good academic record and should pass the National written test like UGC-CSIR NET, ICMR-JRF , DBT-BET, and NET Qualified for lectureship and ICMR exam qualified for the JRF Project post will also be considered.
Desirable: Experience in the field of either Reproductive, Molecular biology and animal handling
Job Requirement :
* Handling of mice, dosing, autopsy, blood & tissue collection
* To carry out laboratory work related to histological, biochemical and molecular techniques
* Computation of data analysis and report writing
Age limit :Below 28 years Age relaxation in case of SC/ST/OB C/PH as per rules
Post : Senior Research Fellow (One) DST Project
Pay(Rs) : 14000/- +15% HRA
Qualifications & Experience :
Essential: Masters in Zoology / Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ other related subjects or equivalent degree with good academic record and passed National written test like UGC-CSIR NET / lectureship /ICMR exam qualified with 2 years research experience.
Desirable: Experience in the field of reproductive / cytotoxicology
Job Requirement :
* To collect history, biological samples
* To carry out laboratory work related to semen analysis/ gene polymorphism
* Computation of data analysis and report writing
Age limit : Age limit for SRF below 35 yrs. Age relaxation in case of SC/ST/ OBC/PH candidates as per rules
