The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) is a National effort at ensuring effective healthcare through a range of interventions at individual, household, community, and most critically at the health system levels. Despite considerable gains in health status over the past few decades in terms of increased life expectancy, reductions in mortality and morbidity serious challenges still remain. These challenges vary significantly from state to state and even within states.

Application are invited from the interested candidate who are citizen of India for the following post, detailed below on contract Basis for a period of 11 month and can be extended subject to performance, in the O/O the State Tuberculosis Officer (RNTCP)- Meghalaya Shillong, TB Hospital Compound, Jhalupara.

Public health, sanitation and hospitals are the exclusive responsibilities of the State. State provides financial and managerial support for the basic health care support and infrastructural facilities at the rural level, while the State level super specialty Medical Colleges & Hospitals predominantly provides the ambulatory care services.

In this direction, Advanced Pharmacognosy Research Laboratory is noteworthy to mention. Other than its usual activities, the laboratory is now going to organize a national seminar on Pharmacy & Healthcare: Traditional Knowledge To Modem Techniques. The national seminar brings together researchers from different universities, institutes and industries and gives them a platform to share their research work.
