Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad is a Research Institute under Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, has been established to provide services in DNA fingerprinting and diagnosis of genetic disorders, and to undertake high quality basic research in frontier areas of modern biology. CDFD has established CDFD Technology Incubator since 2023 to nurture, promote, and accelerate early-stage innovations in life sciences and related disciplines.
Post : Consultant - Senior Incubation Manager – 01 post
CDFD wishes to fill up a post of Consultant - Senior Incubation Manager purely on temporary basis, tenure of which is initially for a period of 12 months and likely to be extended further on satisfactory performance and need basis. The selected candidate has to work from Monday to Friday from 9.30 AM to 6.00 PM.
Consultancy Fee : Minimum Rs 60,000/- P.M to Maximum Rs 70,000/- P.M (Based on qualification and experience)
Age : Below 50 Years
Essential Qualifications : Masters’ degree or equivalent in life sciences discipline from any nationally reputed Institute/University. Certifications in any three courses - Incubation and Entrepreneurship, Regulatory Affairs, Business Models, Digital Marketing, Technology Transfer, Program Management, would be an added advantage.
Essential Experience : The applicant must have minimum 4 years of overall work experience in the start-up ecosystem, either as a start-up founder/co-founder/core team member and/or as a stakeholder of start-up ecosystem or in managing/administering an incubation centre.
Work Responsibilities
a) To expand the portfolio of incubated life science/biotech startups, selection support, and strategic nurturing of incubatees.
b) To oversee and optimize the technology infrastructure, specialized laboratory resources, and incubation support systems to ensure operational excellence.
c) To manage the incubator facility and actively mentor/support startups with a strong understanding of the biotech startup ecosystem, regulatory pathways, and commercialization challenges.
d) To plan and organize impactful programs, tech showcases, workshops, investor meets, networking sessions, and other ecosystem-building initiatives to support startup growth and visibility.
e) To identify funding avenues (Government + private) and take lead in drafting grant proposals and supporting incubatees in securing funding and early market traction.
f) To strengthen startup access to mentors, investors, corporates, domain experts, and professional service providers through structured engagement and strategic mapping.
g) To initiate, develop, and manage collaborations including innovation support, joint development programs with national and global partners.
h) To monitor startup progress, track KPIs, and provide periodic reporting to management and stakeholders.
i) To handle social media platforms to enhance brand visibility for the Incubator.
Key Skills / Abilities :
a) Strong understanding of emerging biotechnologies and their translational/commercial applications.
b) Technical knowledge of life science laboratory operations, biosafety compliance, and scientific equipment handling.
c) Proven capability to guide startups through validation, regulatory requirements, and go-to-market pathways.
d) Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to collaborate across scientific, administrative, and industry levels.
e) Strong networking, communication, and presentation skills with readiness to travel for outreach and partnership development.
f) Ability to thrive in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment with proactive problem- solving and leadership mindset.
g) Prior experience in incubator/accelerator environments or startup ecosystem roles preferred.

The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience as per the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Mere fulfilling the essential and desirable qualifications will not entitle an applicant to be eligible for interview / selection. In case large number of applications are received, the Screening Committee will screen the applications to limit the number of candidates to those possessing higher and or relevant qualification and experience. The decision of Director, CDFD in this regard is final and binding. Waiting list, as deemed fit, will be maintained. Any vacancy arising because of non- joining by selected candidate in this selection or by resignation of candidate who had joined after selection will be offered to the candidates from the waiting list according to their ranking.
If the consultant wishes to resign within the first 03 (three) months of joining, then neither he/she will be issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) nor he/she will receive any Relieving Letter or Experience Certificate from CDFD.
