Job Description
This position provides operations management leadership to “Impurities for Development” program – a service based program aimed at providing services related to identification, isolation, synthesis and characterization of pharmaceutical impurities. The incumbent will be responsible for managing operational aspects of this newly launched program including coordinating internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of projects thereby ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget, in order to meet customers’ needs.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Oversee the operational aspects related to impurities for development projects. Requires close co-ordination with operations lead and SMPO located in Rockville.
• Work with the IFD science lead and finance to developing costing for the projects to be quoted
• Develop quotes on the basis of proposals received from site, partners and other relevant sources
• Evaluate commercial availability. Provide commercial opportunity evaluation resulting “make vs buy” recommendations
• Work closely with the Customer Experience Team to track and ensure positive customer experience
• Oversee the quality assurance and logistics activities to ensure delivery timeline is met in order to meet customers’ needs
• Track of activities for each project according to the business process map and detail the progress to plan in an appropriate tracking tool Monitor dwell times in each stage of the business process map and make recommendations to continually improve where needed.
• Report out progress of each project from leads through to completion; continuous improvements; financial status; and customer insights biweekly.

Candidate Profile
• A Master's degree in business, or scientific field is required.
• Senior Manager: Candidate must have a minimum of 7 years years of related work experience with a minimum of 3 years in project management
• Project management experience in a Contract Research, Manufacturing or Laboratory Organization preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels in the organization.
• A track record of success in project completion and continuous improvement demonstrated. 
• Strong ability to develop relationships with key players within the cross-functional environment.
• A strong team player and a leader by influence.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bias to action and results driven with examples of successful outcomes.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in an environment of change.
• Strong attention to detail and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
• Combined education in science and business highly desired.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, relational databases with reporting functions.
• Ability to gain customer confidence and establish relationships; Strong empathy for customers.
• Global mindset.
