Exciting opportunity for Doctoral Degree, PG Candidates in BRIC-SAHAJ funded project

The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (instem.res.in), Bangalore is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. BRIC-inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with an emphasis on translation. To develop strengths in focused areas, research at BRIC-inStem is driven through collaborative interdisciplinary teams, addressing questions that are beyond the scope of a single laboratory.

BRIC-inStem invites applications (in online mode) from eligible candidates for various contractual positions under a project funded by BRIC-SAHAJ. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are result-oriented, can assimilate, analyze and communicate data effectively and are excellent team players capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Project Scientist - I or Project Scientist - II
No. of Post : 02
Age Limit : 45 years
Monthly Emoluments (in Rs.) : Project Scientist - I ₹. 56,000/m + HRA (or) Project Scientist - II ₹. 67,000 +HRA
Essential Qualification : (i) Doctoral Degree in Science from a recognised university or equivalent in Stem cell biology, Developmental biology, Cell biology, and/or Molecular Biology.
(ii) PS-II eligibility - 3year of post - PhD experience in R&D
Job Description :
• Stem Cell biology related research requiring techniques including stem cell culture, all steps of quality control and differentiation of human stem cells and organoids as per prescribed protocols.
• Preparation of Microscopy samples, imaging
• Routine molecular biology work such as cloning, nucleic acid isolation, RT-PCR, and nucleic acid sequencing.
• Plan experiments, order reagents, and adhere to protocols
• Regular data analysis, project updates, literature survey, and presentation of data
• Participate in project team meetings and contribute to the projects intellectually
• Prepare professional reports, presentations, and lab records.

Project Associate I or Project Associate II

Monthly Emoluments (in Rs.) : Project Associate I ₹.31,000/m + HRA (Net Qualified) ₹.25,000/m + HRA (Non-Net Qualified) (or) Project Associate-II ₹.35,000/m + HRA (Net Qualified) ₹.28,000/m + HRA (Non-Net Qualified)
Essential Qualification : i) Master’s Degree in Life Sciences/ MVSC or bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology or medicine from a recognised university or equivalent.
ii) PA- II eligibility – 2 year experience in R&D in industrial or academic institutions or science and technology organisations.
Job Description :
• Cell biology related research requiring cell biology techniques, including cell culture, maintenance of stocks and transfection
• Preparation of Microscopy samples, imaging
• Routine molecular biology work such as cloning, nucleic acid isolation, RT-PCR, and nucleic acid sequencing.
• Plan experiments, order reagents, and adhere to protocols
• Regular data analysis, project updates, literature survey, and presentation of data
• Prepare professional reports, presentations, and lab records.

Tenure : Contractual appointment for 11 months, renewable based on requirement and review of progress and requirement of the Grant.

9. The incumbent will be required to conform to the rules and regulations of BRIC-inStem in force from time to time and follow the discipline rules of the institute failing which the contract may be withdrawn at any point in time.
