Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an Institution of National Importance established through an Act of Indian Parliament by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India under the auspices of UNESCO. The primary focus of RCB is to provide world class education, training and conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create high quality human resource in disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology.
Post : Project-SRF
Title of Project : Genetic dissection of rancidity and goitrogenic c-glycosyl flavone biosynthesis genes to enhance the shelf-life and nutritional quality of pearl millet flour.
Duration : Initially for one year, and can be extended on an annual basis.
Essential Qualifications : MSc./ M.Tech. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Bioinformatics/ Genomics/ Agriculture/ Pharmacy or any other related subject with 2 years research experience, and National level JRF eligibility test, such as NET, GATE, etc., qualified.
Desirable : Experience in plant transformation, molecular biology, biochemistry, protein isolation, purification Confocal microscopy, gene editing techniques. A candidate who has 2 years of research experience working in a relevant area with expertise will be preferred. Candidate should be motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking and a team player with good interpersonal skills.
Age : Below 35 years
Principal Investigator : Dr. Ramu S Vemanna, Associate Professor
Fellowship : Rs. 42,000/- + 27% HRA per month.
