As per the demand letter received from the Department of Public Health, Government of Maharashtra, applications are invited through the prescribed online mode for the post of Deputy Director, Arogya Seva, (State Arogya Laboratory), General State Service, Group-A cadre in the Directorate of Health Services.

Pay Scale :- Level S-25: Rs.78,800/- to Rs.2,09,200/- plus allowances admissible as per rules.
Eligibility :- Indian Citizenship
Age Limit : 18-40 years
1. Upper age limit is not applicable to employees in the service of Government of Maharashtra.
2. Relaxation in age limit for Backward Class candidates, Handicapped, Orphans and Sportspersons shall be admissible, whichever is the maximum.
3. Upper age limit shall be relaxed in case of candidates possessing unusual educational qualification and / or experience. However, only when sufficient candidates are not received for interview as per the provisions of the Commission's Rules of Procedure, the said provision will be considered.
4. In every such case only candidates with two levels of highest educational qualification of the available candidates will be considered for age relaxation.
5. In respect of experience, experience in a post senior to the minimum experience sought for in the post will be considered for relaxing the age limit.
Educational Qualification and Experience :-
(i) Possess post graduate degree in Biochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemistry of Foods, Drugs and Water or Food Technology or an equivalent qualification; [Note :- As informed by Government Letter, No. Namni-1418/P.No.230/Seva-2, dated 13th November, 2019, the academic qualification of the said post is M.Sc. Physical Chemistry, M.Sc.-Analytical Chemistry, M.Sc. Forensic Science, M.Sc. Microbiology, M.Sc.-Bio Technology will be considered as an equivalent/equivalent qualification.] AND
(ii) Possess experience for a period of not less than ten years gained after acquiring the qualification mentioned in above in analysis of food, knowledge of food standards and their composition, water and effluent analysis, knowledge of water and effluent standards and problems connected with environmental pollution.
Preferred Qualifications :
Provided further that, preference may be given to candidates having research experience in food and water Chemistry and Microbiology as evidenced by published papers.
Date of calculation of period of educational qualification and experience:-
It is necessary to possess the relevant educational qualification by the prescribed last date for submission of applications as per the advertisement presented.
The period of experience will be calculated on the last date prescribed for submission of applications as per the advertisement presented.
Regarding claims of experience:-
It is mandatory for the candidate to mention Nature of Job- Analysis of food or Water and effluent analysis or Analysis of food and Water and effluent analysis in order to be eligible as per the experience claims as per the advertisement presented while making various forms of claims or updating the claims through the Commission's online application system. Otherwise, the application will not be accepted through the online application system.
Selection Process
1. The educational qualification, experience etc. mentioned in the advertisement are the minimum qualifications and the candidate will not be eligible to be called for the interview as he/she holds the minimum qualification.
2. The number of applications received in accordance with the advertisement is more than reasonable as per the provisions of the Commission's Rules of Procedure and if it is not convenient to interview all the eligible candidates who have submitted the application, the number of candidates eligible for interview will be limited on the basis of educational qualification and/or experience more than the educational qualification and/or experience mentioned in the advertisement or on the basis of other suitable criteria or through screening test in order to limit the number of candidates for interview.
3. Qualification and/or experience shall not be relaxed if it is decided to conduct screening test.
4. The minimum percentile qualification as per the provisions of the Rules of Procedure of the Commission shall remain applicable if the screening test is conducted.
5. If it is decided to conduct the Screening Examination, the Syllabus of Screening Examination, Medium of Examination, Date of Examination, Mode of Examination (Online/Offline) and other matters (if applicable) will be published on the website of the Commission.
6. If Screening Test is conducted then candidate will be recommended on the basis of Screening Test Marks and Interview Marks together, if Screening Test is not conducted then candidate will be recommended on the basis of Interview Marks only.
7. Only candidates securing minimum 41% marks and above in interview will be considered for recommendation.
8. The selection process for the post of Deputy Director, Arogya Seva (State Arogya Laboratory), General State Service, Group-A Cadre in the Public Health Department will be conducted as per the Service Entry Rules dated 11th June, 1985 as well as the Rules / Procedures amended by the Commission from time to time.
9. While preparing the final recommendation list, the ranking of the candidates possessing the same marks will be determined as per the provisions of the Commission's gazette dated September 12, 2022.

(iv) The application shall not be considered unless the examination fee is paid within the prescribed period after submission of the application to the Commission.

(2) Backward Class / Economically Weaker Section / Orphan / Handicapped - Rs.449/-
(3) In addition to the above examination fees, bank charges and taxes payable thereon shall be additional.
(4) Examination fee is non-refundable.
The examination fee can be paid by clicking on the 'Submit and Pay fees' button available after completion of the application submission process or by clicking on the 'Pay Now' link in front of the advertisement/post/examination where the current status is written as 'Fees not Paid' in the list of applied posts under 'My Account' on the home page.
Payment of examination fee can be made in the following two ways:-
(a) Online Mode :-
(1) Examination fee can be paid through credit card, debit card or net banking through any payment gateway provided by State Bank of India as well as through the system.
(2) While paying the examination fee, after deducting the amount of examination fee from the bank account, one should not log out from the relevant page on the website and/or the account unless the message that the payment of the examination fee has been successful (Payment Successful) is displayed on the page of the Commission's online application system and the receipt of the examination fee is prepared.
(3) After payment of the examination fee, the candidate will immediately know the status of whether the payment of the examination fee has been successful in his profile. It is the candidate's responsibility to ensure that the examination fee has been successfully paid and the bank transaction has been completed before logging out of the account.
If due to any reason it is not possible to successfully pay the examination fee online within the prescribed period, a copy of the challan can be taken to pay the examination fee offline within two days after the last date of application.
(Two) Offline mode (by movement) :-
If opting for payment of examination fee by challan, the examination fee can be paid before the prescribed last date at any branch of State Bank of India during bank office hours by taking the available challan copy. However, care should be taken that taking a copy of the currency and depositing the fee in the bank will take at least three hours.
If the payment of examination fee is not successful, the procedure for re-payment of fee or collection of challan must be done before the prescribed date as per the advertisement/notification presented. If the transaction fails for any reason, the complaint in this regard will not be entertained by the Commission.
Candidates who fail to pay the examination fee within the prescribed period will not be considered for the respective recruitment process. In this regard, it will be in the interest of the candidates to observe the relevant provisions in the general notice to the candidates on the website of the Commission.
Post Entry Conditions:-
(i) The person appointed to the post shall be required to pass the prescribed departmental examination and successfully complete the probationary period. If he does not pass the departmental examination within the prescribed period or does not successfully complete the probationary period or he is not exempted from passing the examination or he is found not eligible for the post, he will be eligible for termination of service.
(ii) Departmental Examination and Hindi and Marathi Language Examination if he has not already passed or has been exempted from passing the examination, he shall be required to pass the said examination.
