National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Guwahati (NIPER-G) is an Autonomous Institute of National importance and the first National pharma institute in North-East India set up by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India by an Act of Parliament, to impart high quality Education and Research in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The Institute intends to fill the following posts on Direct Recruitment/Contract basis:

Associate Professor (Department of Pharmaceutical Technology & Formulations)
Pay Matrix : Level-13 and Cell-1 of Pay Matrix Basic Pay Rs. 1,23,100/-

Essential and Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Essential: Ph.D., in Pharmaceutical Sciences with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree (M.Pharm/MS) in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology & Formulations/Industrial Pharmacy with a very good academic record throughout, and at least 8 years of Teaching/ Research/Industrial experience with published works of high quality well recognized and established reputation of having made a conspicuous seminal contribution to knowledge in Pharmaceutical and allied areas.

Desirable : Candidate should have adequate knowledge and experience on formulation development and scale-up studies as well as technology transfer for bulk and other dosage forms. The candidate should also have exposure to various optimization and prediction tools like Design of Experiment (DoE), DoE-driven AI and ML, Gastro Plus, WinNonlin etc Preference will be given to the candidate having a minimum of 3 years’ experience at the level of Assistant Professor/ Ramalingaswami/Ramanujan Fellows and who completes at least one EMR or Industry-sponsored project with an administrative experience like the establishment of Department, etc. The candidate Should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of Masters’ students and at least one Ph.D. student and having good publications in SCI journals.

Assistant Professor (Department of Pharmaceutical Technology & Formulations)

Essential and Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Essential : Ph.D., in Pharmaceutical Sciences with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree (M.Pharm/MS) in the Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology (Formulations/Industrial Pharmacy) with a very good academic record throughout and at least 5 years of Teaching/ Research/Industrial experience with published works of high quality.

Essential : Ph. D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree (M.Sc/M.Pharm/M.S.Pharm/ M.Tech) in Bioengineering/Biomedical engineering or other relevant subject with a very good academic record throughout and at least 8 years of Teaching / Research / Industrial experience with published works of high quality.


Desirable : Candidates should have experience in Biomechanics, Bio medical Engineering, Biomedical Devices and/or Bioelectronics. Expertise in developing and testing of Biomedical devices in class 2 and class 3 categories will be an added advantage. Patent filed/granted in the area of biomedical devices will be preferred. Candidates who have experience in transfer of technology,commercialization of products, will be preferred. Preference will be given to the candidate who has ongoing/completed at least one EMR or Industry sponsored project on the Biomedical devices Candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience in Independent research in terms of guidance of at least one Ph.D. graduated, student with publications in SCI journals.

D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree (M.Sc/M.Pharm/M.S.Pharm/ /M.Tech) in Bioengineering/Biomedical engineering or other relevant subject with a very good academic record throughout and at least 5 years of Teaching / Research / Industrial experience with published works of high quality.
Desirable : Candidates should have experience in Biomechanics, Bio medical Engineering, Biomedical Devices and/or Bioelectronics. Essential and Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Essential : Ph.D., in Pharmaceutical Sciences with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree (M.Pharm/MS/M.Sc) in Pharmacy practice, Hospital pharmacy, Clinical pharmacology, Pharmacology & Toxicology with a very good academic record throughout with 5 years of Teaching/Research/Industrial experience with published works of high quality.
Desirable : Candidate should have expertise in clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, Pharmacoepidemiology, Pharmacoeconomics/Health economics, Health Outcomes Research, Health Systems Research, patient counselling, ADR monitoring, systematic review, Meta-analysis and experience in providing pharmaceutical care services at hospital and community setup. Candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of Masters’ students, execution and/or recipients of sponsored/EMR projects, and with publication in SCI journals.

Essential : Ph.D., in Pharmaceutical Sciences with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding (M.Pharm/MS/M.Tech) in the Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology & Formulations/Industrial Pharmacy with a very good academic record and at least 5 years of Teaching/Research/Industrial experience with published works of high quality.
Desirable : Candidates should have experience in anyone or in combination of the following research areas:
(a) antisense drug technology
(b) Inorganic metal based nano formulations
(c) Dendrimers
(d) Computational methods for formulation optimization Candidate Should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of Masters’ students, execution of sponsored/EMR projects and with publication in SCI journals.

Essential and Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Essential : Ph. D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree (M.Sc/M.S Pharm /M.Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Analysis/ Analytical Chemistry/ Bioanalytical Chemistry with a very good academic record throughout and at least minimum of 5 years of Teaching / Research / Industrial experience with published works of high quality.
Desirable : Experience in Method development and Method validation of analytical / bioanalytical methods for various drug substances and drug products/biological samples/ Metabolite and impurity profiling / degradation, PK studies and synthesis pathways.
Candidates should have expertise in handling equipment’s like HPLC, GC, LCMS-MS, GC-MS, ICPMS etc.
Candidates should be familiar with regulatory guidelines like ICH, FDA, MHRA, WHO, GMP, GLP etc. Preference will be given to the candidates who have demonstrated adequate experience in Independent research in terms of guidance of Master students, execution of sponsored/EMR projects and with publications in SCI journals.

Assistant Professor (Department of Medicinal Chemistry)
Pay Matrix : Level-12 and Cell-1 of Pay Matrix Basic Pay: Rs. 78,800/-

Essential and Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Essential : Ph.D., in Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Chemistry with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree (M.Pharm/MS/M.Sc.) in Synthetic organic chemistry with a very good academic record throughout and at least 5 years of Teaching/Research/ Industrial experience with published works of high quality.
Desirable : A Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry (Preferably in design and synthesis of bioactive compounds and small molecules total synthesis) that should reflect in a good number and highquality publications in top-rated organic journals and or patents. Preference will be given to the candidates: Who understands the logic in Organic Synthesis (including organic reaction mechanism, principles of synthetic planning, asymmetric synthesis, synthesis of complex molecules, the reaction of electron-deficient intermediates, alkylation, the reaction of yields, hydroboration, stereoselective and stereospecific synthesis) and related topics. Who has experience in reputed international institutes and has a good number of high-quality publications in SCI Indexed Journal and or patents.

Assistant Professor (Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology)
Pay Matrix : Level-12 and Cell-1 of Pay Matrix Basic Pay: Rs. 78,800/-

Essential and Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Essential : Ph.D., in Pharmaceutical Sciences with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree (M.Pharm/MS/M.Tech/M.Sc) in the Pharmacology & Toxicology, Regulatory Toxicology, Biotechnology/ Biomedical Sciences with a very good academic record throughout and at least 5 years of Teaching/Research/Industrial experience with published works of high quality.
Desirable : Candidate should have demonstrative leadership in in vitro and in vivo pharmacology in the areas of neurodegenerative/ nano medicine/ infectious diseases. Candidate Should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent Research in terms of guidance of Masters students, execution of sponsored/EMR projects and with publication in SCI journals.
Max. Age limit : Not exceeding 40 years
* one position will be on contract for a period of 5 years with consolidated pay as per pay matrix

General Instruction and Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility, Age, Qualification & Experience
a) Pay-levels mentioned are of 7th Central Pay Commission.
b) All qualifications acquired must be recognized in law.
c) Qualifications and experience of candidates must be relevant to the position applying for.
d) Age and experience requirements shall be reckoned as on the closing date of the advertisement; Experience gained after completion of post graduation and during Ph.D. will also be considered subject to provision of experience certificate.
e) Mere fulfilment of qualifications and experience does not entitle a candidate to be short-listed. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the candidates to be called for the selection process to a reasonable number based on relevant criteria, higher than the minimum prescribed.
f) The Institute reserves the right to act and take decisions as deemed fit, in all matters relating to
(i) eligibility;
(ii) acceptance or rejection of the application;
(iii) incomplete or incorrect information (if any) furnished by the applicant;
(iv) shortlisting and selection;
(v) offer of appointment on regular or contract basis. No request or correspondence of any kind in this regard would be entertained.
g) No vigilance or disciplinary case should have been contemplated, initiated, pending or taken against the candidate as on the date of submitting the applications. Such candidates would be ineligible and hence should not apply. If such a development arises after the candidate submits the application, the Institute must be promptly notified.
h) The candidates should not have faced any action by any law enforcement agency and should not have been convicted by any Court of Law, either in India or abroad.

2. Vacancies and Positions:
a) The Institute reserves the right not to fill any, some or all the advertised positions; or cancel the advertisement in whole or in part, without assigning any reason and without incurring any liability. The Institute also reserves the right to extend the closing date for receipt of applications; restrict, enlarge, modify or alter the requirements or recruitment process in whole or part, if such need arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason thereof.
b) Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria, but not found suitable in the selection process for the positions applied for may be offered positions at lower pay-level (or) on contract.
c) Higher basic pay may be considered for deserving candidates i.e., of outstanding merit or exceptional record of performance.
d) Appointments under Direct Recruitment are regular in nature with a probation period as per the norms of the Institute and the same shall be confirmed depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent.

3. Age Relaxation
OBC : 3 Years against reserved posts only
SC/ST : 5 Years against reserved posts only
PWD with 40% minimum disability : 15 Years for SC/ST, 13 Years for OBC and 10 Years for others against all the posts identified suitable for the relevant category of disability; subject to maximum age not exceeding 56 years on the last date for receipt of application
EX Servicemen : As per the Government of India norms.
Departmental Candidates : Relaxable up to 5 years as per the norms for appointment by Direct Recruitment (Applicable to the candidates working in DoP or in any NIPERs)

Disqualification:
a) If a candidate is found ineligible at any stage of recruitment process, he/she will be disqualified, his/her candidature will be cancelled and if selected, the offer appointment may be cancelled, withdrawn; or service terminated forthwith without any compensation and with no liability for the Institute, whatsoever. Suppressing any information (in whole or part) or submitting false or misleading information (in whole or part) may lead to similar penal action at any stage of recruitment.
b) Applications which are not in prescribed form, filled incorrectly or incomplete may be rejected outright. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
c) Issuance of letter (if any) for attending the selection process will not confer any right of appointment.
d) In case of any inadvertent error in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of offer of appointment, the Institute reserves the right to withdraw, cancel, or modify any communication, offer or appointment made to the candidate, without incurring any liability whatsoever.
e) Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

Other Terms & Conditions:
a) The Institute strives to have a workforce with gender balance and hence, female candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
b) All recruitment shall be done on the recommendations of duly constituted Screening Committee and the Selection Committee. d) Applicants called for Written Test/ Skill Test/ Interview shall not be entitled for payment of any TA/DA. e) Disputes (if any) shall be subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts of Guwahati.

How to Apply
a) Interested candidates are invited to apply using the prescribed format only, available on the website (www.niperguwahati.ac.in) from 11:00 AM on 23.02.2021 to 5:00 PM on 15. 03.2021.
b) Fee of Rs.1000/-(Rupees one thousand only) for both the Teaching and Group-A officers (from Pay level 10 and above) and Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) for other non-teaching posts has to be paid through the link provided inside the portal. Once the fee is submitted through online, the candidates are requested to enter the reference number, payment date and amount in the NIPER Guwahati recruitment portal, without which, final submission will not be allowed. The fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances. No fee is required for the candidates belonging to SC/ST, PwD category. Candidate after submission of Application and payment of fee, a PDF will be generated with the completed form and fees receipt. Applicants are required to take the print of the PDF application form and fee receipt, sign and send the same along with all selfattested relevant supporting documents by post to NIPER-Guwahati within the prescribed date mentioned below.
c) Candidates employed in Government or Government Organizations (e.g., CFTIs, Autonomous Institutions, Universities etc.) must apply through proper channel; or produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview; If selected, they must produce a Relieving Letter at the time of reporting for duty. Such candidates may send advance applications, but, if found eligible and shortlisted, they would be allowed take part in the selection process only if the application is received through proper channel and/or a No Objection Certificate is produced on or before the interview date.
d) Candidates are advised to visit the website of NIPER Guwahati (niperguwahati.ac.in) regularly for updates. Amendments, corrigenda (if any), will be placed on the Institute website only.
e) Applications must be accompanied by:
i. Statement of Purpose (maximum 1000 Words)
ii. Your proposed contribution to the Institute (maximum 1000 words)
iii. Your notable achievements in education and employment
iv. Awards, Rewards, Recognitions won and/or professional affiliations
v. Professional References –relevant and not relatives -(three) with Name, Designation, Organization, e-Mail ID, Mobile and Landline
vi. Category Certificate (if applicable) issued by competent authority, with validity as on the closing date of applications.
f) Applications must be complete in all respects. Additional sheets as needed may be used and referenced suitably. All information furnished MUST be supported by documentary evidence. Incomplete, incorrect and sketchy applications are liable to be rejected.
g) Except the documentation sought as above, no other certificate or documentation need be attached or provided, at the stage of submitting the application. Such proof would be sought later, ONLY from short-listed applicants.
h) Completely filled-in application duly ink-signed along with documents mentioned above, should be sent by Speed Post or Courier to the address given below, ensuring it reaches the Institute latest by 25-03-2021 (Thursday) 1700 Hrs. It is reiterated that no other certificates or supporting documentation need be attached at this stage.
