SANT GAHIRA GURU VISHWAVIDYALAYA, SURGUJA AMBIKAPUR(FORMERLY SARGUJA VISHWAVIDYALAYA) is established and incorporated by Chhattisgarh Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam No. 18 of 2008 on September 2nd, 2008. The territorial jurisdiction of the University extends to the entire Sarguja Division comprising of five revenue districts. This Consist of Korea, Surguja, Jashpur, Surajpur and Balrampur. The University was established to serve the society through dissemination of knowledge in all the disciplines.

General Information and Instructions
1. THIS ADVERTISEMENT IS SUBJECT TO THE FINAL ORDER/DECISION OF THE HON’BLE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA IN THE S.L.P. (C) 19668/2022.
2. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
3. Candidates are requested to carefully read the General Information & Instructions before filling up the Online Application Form. Candidates are also advised to visit the university website or portal (sggcg,in) periodically for further information related to the recruitment process.
4. THE UNIVERSITY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO : -
a. Withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without assigning any reason thereof.
b. Not to fill up any of the advertised positions.
c. Increase or decrease the number of posts of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor as and when required. If any, notice will be uploaded on website or portal for information.
5. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The qualifications for the advertised teaching positions shall be in accordance with the relevant Ordinance, Regulation of the University and “UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education 2018” (hereinafter referred to as UGC Regulations - 2018) and its subsequent amendments issued, published in the Gazette of India, and are subject to any future Regulations/Norms, including amendments in the present Regulations stipulated by the AICTE /PCI/BCI etc.
6. Candidates who have been awarded Ph.D. degree from foreign universities should enclose “Equivalence Certificate” issued by the Association of Indian universities (AIU), New Delhi without which their candidature will not be considered and application will be rejected.
7. For appointment to teaching post in discipline of Technical Education, Teaching Education Norms and Standards laid down by the Relevant Regulatory Bodies like AICTE/PCI/BCI etc. shall prevail.
8. The educational qualification, experience, age and other eligibility conditions as stipulated in advertisement shall be determined as on the closing date of submission of online application.
9. Applicants are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess essential Qualifications as laid down in the Advertisement.
10. The candidates are advised to go through the Guidelines for Screening cum Assessment for direct appointment to the position of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor.
11. Application submitted but not accompanied by necessary supporting verifiable documents, self-attested copies of degree, certificates, marksheets, experience certificate, category certificate (if applicable), publications, teaching/research experience issued by the competent authority and the incomplete applications shall be rejected summarily.
12. The Candidate should submit the proof of the Impact Factor, Peer Reviewed Journals, Refereed Jouraals/UGC Approved Journals of each Research Paper, which has been included in the Research Score claimed, duly signed by the Candidate.
13. Each research score claimed by the candidate must be supported by the documentary evidence which will be objectively verifiable, without which no claim on account of research score would
be entertained.
14. The prescribed qualifications/experience is the minimum and the mere possession and fulfilling the essential and desirable qualifications of the same does not entitle the candidates to be called for the interview.
15. Application fees to be submitted online via. Internet banking, Debit/Credit Card, UPI etc. No other mode of fees payment will be accepted. Details of fees are as follows:
i. for General category INR. 1500/-
ii. for SC/ST/OBC/PwD category INR. 1000/- .
16. Application fee once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
17. Eligible candidates have to apply online on or before last date on online submission of application form through link of the university portal given on website sggcg.in. The last date for filling up the online applications is 28/01/2026.
18. All the candidates should submit their applications online on or before last date and time and thereafter send the printout of it with self- attested copies of all documents in support of academic and research performance and other scholarly and academic credentials/ accomplishments on or before last date. Original certificates should be produced at the time of Document Verification before the Interview.

20. Incomplete applications or applications received after last date shall not be considered. Application will be considered only if both online and hard copy application form duly filled are received by due date. University shall not be liable for any postal delay.
21. In case the last date fixed for receipt of applications is declared a holiday, next working day shall be deemed to be the last date for receiving the forms.
22. The reservation for SC/ST/OB C/Female/PwD candidates will be as per the prevalent Rules/orders/notifications of the Govt, of Chhattisgarh only. Candidate applying under quota reserved for person with disabilities should indicate whether he or she belongs to SC/ST/OBC or General Category. SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy Layer), PwD candidates and women candidates must enclose with the application a ‘hard copy’ of the Caste Certificate/Medical Certificate on prescribed Format of the Chhattisgarh State Government, duly issued by the competent authority of Chhattisgarh State only.
23. OBC (Non-creamy Layer) candidates are required to submit a valid Certificate in a prescribed Format and issued by the competent authority of Chhattisgarh State only.
24. The appointment under reserved category shall be provisional and subject to certificate being verified through the proper channels. If the verification reveals that the claim of the of the candidate to a particular category is false, his or her services will be terminated forthwith without with/without assigning any further reasons and without prejudice to such further action as may be taken under the provisions of the Indian penal code for production of false certificates.
25. A Candidate already in employment requires to submit the Application through proper channel. However, the candidate may send an advance copy of the Application and produce the ‘No Objection Certificate’ at the time of interview. If NOC is not enclosed with the application, then Candidates must attach copy of the application submitted for NOC to his/her employer, along with other documents. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer at the time of interview should be put placed, failing which he or she will not be allowed to appear before the selection committee.
26. Any document submitted after the Last Date shall not be accepted for any purpose, except for the ‘No Objection Certificate’ that may be produced at the Time of Interview.
27. The Candidates will be called for interview by the University on the recommendations of the Screening Committee, constituted by the competent authority.
28. The candidates shall be communicated about the activities/ information related to Recruitment Process and the interview by e-mail. Simultaneously the respective information will also be displayed on the university website www.sggcg.in The candidates are advised in their own interest to mention their correct mobile no. and email IDs in the application and ensure that mobile no. and email ID remain valid till the completion of recruitment process. Thus, the candidates are advised to visit the university website on regular basis for updates and all also requested to mention his or her valid email id in the online application form.
29. Shortlisted candidates are required to bring along all the original documents at the time of interview for verification. In case the candidate fails to produce the claimed documents, his or her claim will be rejected.
30. The university shall verify the antecedents/documents submitted by the candidates at the time of appointment and/or any time during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/ background and has suppressed the said information, his or her services shall be terminated forthwith.
31. The candidate of all categories may apply for Unreserved (UR) post. Candidates belonging to reserve categories of other states will be treated is Unreserved (UR).
32. Salary, Allowances, HRA etc. and period of probation shall be governed as per the norms of the Government of Chhattisgarh for its regular employees as issued by the Department of
Finance/Higher Education/General Administration etc.
33. The service conditions, code of conduct, disciplinary actions etc. for selected candidates will be governed by the terms and conditions of the relevant ordinance/statutes/regulations made under
the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 1973 and its subsequent
amendments.
34. It will be mandatory for the candidate to submit the certificate of being found fit for the service issued by the medical board.
35. In case of selection, the original certificate regarding relevant educational qualification along with the caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC candidate) will have to be presented before the university authority.
36. In case of any dispute, any suit and/or legal proceedings by or against the university arises, then Hon’ble High Court of Chhattisgarh shall have the jurisdiction.
