The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted accelerated approval to Voceryq, a first-of-its-kind plasmid DNA-based immunotherapy for adults living with recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP), a rare and chronic disease caused by human papillomavirus (HPV).

India’s pharmaceutical and academic fraternity is mourning the demise of renowned pharmaceutical scientist and eminent academician Prof. Dr. Chandrakant Kishanrao (C.K.) Kokate, who passed away at the age of 79 on November 2, 2026.

Dr. Kokate was a distinguished name in Indian pharmacy education and research. He made significant contributions to pharmacognosy and pharmaceutical sciences and inspired generations of pharmacy students, researchers and teachers through his academic work and leadership.
