A post-doctoral fellowship is available in the University of Cape Town’s Holistic Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3D). The fellowship forms part of H3D’s Wellcome Trust AMR drug discovery grant, under the Gr-ADI consortium, and will be based at the Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine (IDM). This programme will be under the guidance of senior molecular and microbiologists within H3D, who will act as mentors and supervisors.

Cipla Limited has informed the stock exchanges that the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) conducted a routine current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) inspection at the manufacturing facility of its wholly owned subsidiary, InvaGen Pharmaceuticals Inc., located in Central Islip, Long Island, New York, USA.

The inspection was carried out from July 13 to July 17, 2026 (EDT) as part of the USFDA's routine regulatory oversight of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

A new survey has uncovered significant knowledge gaps among families with a history of type 1 diabetes (T1D), highlighting misconceptions that may delay early screening and diagnosis despite their increased risk of developing the disease.

The survey, titled "The Family Factor: A T1D Risk Awareness Survey," was conducted by global diabetes nonprofit Beyond Type 1 and commissioned by Sanofi. It focused on adults and caregivers with a first-degree family member living with type 1 diabetes.

An international research team led by the Medical University of Vienna has investigated a new peptide derived from cone snail venom which significantly reduced inflammation-induced pain in an animal model. Crucially, its effect takes hold immediately after subcutaneous injection, whereas previously known cone snail peptides must be administered directly into the cerebrospinal fluid.
