Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an institution of national importance and statutory body established by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India with regional and global partnerships synergizing with the programmes of UNESCO as a Category II Centre. The primary focus of RCB is to provide world class education, training and conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create high quality human resource in disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology in a globally competitive research milieu.
Title of Project : Polyphosphate signalling in microbial pathogenesis and host immunity.
Duration : Initially for 1 year, may be extended based on annual evaluation (till the duration of the project).
Project Associate–II (One Post)
Essential Qualifications : (i) Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from recognized University or equivalent; and
(ii) 2 years’ experience in Research and development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
Desirable Qualifications : Candidates with overall good academic background with prior research experience (experimental exposure as a part of research project or dissertation) in the field of gut inflammation (details as below).
i) Candidates with experience of handling microbes, gut pathogens, murine model of colitis, cell culture and human patient specimen handling.
ii) Experience in inflammation related assays and gut diseases.
iii) Experience in molecular biology techniques, gene cloning, confocal microscopy, mass- spectrometry etc.
Emoluments : ₹35,000/- per month + 27%HRA (NET/GATE or equivalent National-Level Examination qualified) ₹28,000/- per month + 27% HRA (Non-NET/GATE or equivalent National- Level Examination)
Senior Project Associate (One Post)
Essential Qualifications : (i) Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from recognized University or equivalent; and
(ii) Four (04) years’ experience Research and development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services. OR Doctoral Degree in Science /Engineering/Technology/Pharma/MD/MS from recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications : Candidates with overall good academic background with prior research experience (experimental exposure as a part of research project or dissertation) in the field of gut inflammation (details as below).
i) Candidates with experience of handling gut pathogens, murine model of colitis, cell culture and with experience in inflammation related assays.
ii) Experience in protein purification, computational analysis of biological data.
iii) and biochemical assays.
iv) Experience in molecular biology techniques, gene cloning, confocal microscopy, mass-spectrometry etc..
Emoluments : ₹. 42,000/- per month + 27% HRA
