Job Description
Work with natural ingredients that can be used in our products; use extraction and isolation methods of natural compounds that will give the required benefits in the products.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Systematic literature search on medicinal & aromatic plants used for skin and hair care benefits in Ayurveda and other plants database.
- Extraction of herbs using different extraction protocols and optimization of experimental conditions.
- In-depth practical knowledge to develop TLC mobile phases for resolution of extracts, validation of HPTLC data for the quantification of marker compounds in extracts.
- Bio-assay guided (mainly in vitro) isolation and identification of active ‘‘lead’’ compounds from natural sources.
- Co-ordination with biology group for In vitro screening of fractions, molecules isolated from plants.
- Hands on experience on developing commercially viable process development for enrichment/isolation of active substances using different chromatographic techniques.
- Well- versed in scale up of a developed process for isolation of an active from grams level to kilogram scale.
- Carry out safety and hazard analysis of the processes happening in lab.
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree required in chemistry, physical chemistry, or biology
- Minimum 2-5 years’ of relevant scientific expertise
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Proficiency in English
- Open to local candidates located in India only
