Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali (Punjab), an autonomous institution of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has been established under the umbrella of NANO MISSION, initiated by DST to boost research and development in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in India. INST started its activities on 3rd January 2013, the date on which its first Director was appointed. The institute is currently operating from its transit campus at Habitat Centre, Sector-64, Phase-X, Mohali, Punjab.
Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement as Research Associate(RA)/Postdoc in the research project jointly funded by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and Swedish Research Council at Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.
Title of the Project: In Silico Studies of Magnetic and Vibrational Properties for Diagnostic Application
Principal Investigator: Dr. Md. Ehesan Ali, Scientist-E (ehesan.ali@inst.ac.in)
Qualification: Essential: Ph.D. degree or thesis submitted in the area of Computational Chemistry, Theoretical Condensed Matters Physics.
Desirable: Research experience in Ab Initio Calculations, Density Functional Theory and Molecular Dynamics Simulations. Programing skills in Fortran/C/C++/Python will be preferred but not mandatory.
Age limit: Must not be over 35 years as on 6th November, 2017 which is relaxable for certain reserved categories as per rules of Government of India.
Salary: Rs.36,000/- + 10% HRA for Research Associate/ Rs. 45,000/- (consolidated) for Post-Doc
Duration of Engagement: Initially for one year and may be extended based on performance of the candidate.

General Terms and Conditions:
The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of two years. The position is coterminus with the project.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, however, candidates residing beyond 500 km from Mohali may opt for online interview. Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets and other testimonials must be presented along with the self-attested photocopies of these documents at the time of interview.
