Job Description
The candidate will play a key role in drug product development to support formulation and fill/finish process development for early, mid, and late stage biologic molecules. The position will require hands-on laboratory work, project responsibilities and oversight of the development activities. The candidate must have a proven track record of addressing problems in frozen liquid, liquid in vial or pre-filled syringe and lyophilized antibody formulations. Development and optimization of formulations through efficient formulation studies, characterization of drug product process unit operations as well as primary containers as required, and conducting stability studies and characterization of protein degradation pathways with the goal of developing a better understanding of stabilization mechanisms. Develop strong partnerships with groups in bioanalytical, drug product manufacturing and delivery device groups.
The incumbent may be required to provide technical support for regulatory submissions of Hospira biologic drug products. The position does require designing and optimizing various formulation and filling unit operations including freeze/thaw, mixing, sterile filtration, vial and syringe filling and lyophilization, and supporting the execution of pilot to commercial scale fill/finish manufacturing process.
Candidate Profile
M.Pharm / M.Sc Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering or Life Sciences with 3-6 years experience is required. The candidate must have a proven track record of addressing problems in frozen liquid, liquid in vial or pre-filled syringe and lyophilized antibody formulations.
