Union Public Service Commission invites Applications for the following Posts:

Post : Deputy Director (Industrial Hygiene) - 01(SC-01)

Pay Scale:
Pre revised PAY SCALE Rs.15600-39100/-(PB-3) plus Rs.6600/- (Grade Pay) As per 7th CPC Level 11 (Rs.66700-208700/-) in the Pay Matrix. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.67,700/-p.m. approximately).

Age
Not exceeding 45 years for Scheduled Castes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualificaiton (s)
A. EDUCATIONAL-
Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Bio-chemistry of a recognized University or equivalent.
Equivalent qualification is Associate-ship of Institution of Chemists (AIC) offered by the Institute of Chemists (India), Kolkata.
Note Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
B. EXPERIENCE-
Five years’ research experience in Industrial Hygiene, preferably in Chemical Analysis of samples in a research institution.

Note- The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidate belonging to the Scheduled Cates at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission in the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.

Desirable Qualificaiton (s)
Doctorate Degree relevant to essential qualification mentioned in A above from a recognized University or equivalent. 
Note- No qualification is equivalent to Doctorate degree mentioned above.

Duty(ies)
1. Design of training programmes, brochures in various areas of Industrial Hygiene.
2. Carry out research studies and surveys in the field of Industrial Hygiene and prepare the reports/recommendations.
3. To generate national data on harmful exposures at workplace.
4. Coordination with various agencies.
5. Any other work assigned by higher authorities.

Probation :One year
Head Quarter :  Headquarters is in Mumbai with All India Service liability
Other Details: General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.
