A two days International Conference “INNOVATE 16” on Use of National Medicines Policy and Bio-Statistics in Pharmaceutical Sciences was organized in Pulla Reddy Institute of Pharmacy, Dundigal, Hyderabad, Telangana, India in association with International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR)  on 28th and 29th Sep, 2016.

The chief guest of the event was T.V Narayana, Chairman of IPA-EDU and the guest of Honour, Dr. G.Krishna Mohan, Professor, College of Pharmacuetical Sciences, IST, JNTUH. The validictory program was graced by the Honorable Dr. Lingaiah, Senior Scientist, IICT. The event was also honored by the special invitee Dr. Dayakar Thota, Executive Director, Ram Dev Rao Memorial Hospital, Secretary of St. Peter’s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mr. Jaipal Reddy and the principal of St. Peter’s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Suresh Bhandari and Chairman of MLR college of Pharmacy, Mr. Rajasekhar Reddy the Director of Pulla Reddy Institute of Pharmacy, Mr. Aditya Reddy, Chairman, Sathi Reddy and Dr. V. RamaMohan Gupta, Principal of Pulla Reddy Institute of Pharmacy as convener.

Souvenirs were then released by the chief guest T.V Narayana, presided over the function and expressed his appreciation towards the organizing Institution for opting to organize such a huge event with good theme.

A MOU was also signed between the deans of the two colleges for exchange of students and Faculty of Pharmacy in the conference.

The scientific session was initiated with lectures of the guest Speakers for the event Dr. P.T.Thomas, Professor & Dean, School of Pharmacy, Taylors’s University who delivered on Usefulness of National Medicines Policy. Valuable remarks were proposed by Chair-person for the session, Dr. M Sunitha Reddy, Associate Professor & HOD, Centre for Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPS), IST, JNTUH. Second scientific session was engaged by lectures of Dr. Zoriah Aziz, Associate Professor & H.O.D, University of Malaya, Malaysia on Metanalysis, Strengths and limitations and the Chairperson for the session was Dr. Ajitha, Associate Professor & BOS chair-person CPS, IST, JNTUH. The third scientific session was handled by Dr.  Phayom Sookaneknun, Assistant Professor, Associate Dean for International Relations Mahasarakham University, Thailand who delivered a lecture on Smoking Cessation and the chair-person was Dr. S. Shobharani, Assistant Professor & Additional Controller of Examinations-I, IST, JNTUH. The three of the lectures by the distinguished guest speakers were brain storming, persuative, inspiring and very informative. The Chairpersons had given their valuable remarks on the lectures given by the Guest Speakers.

Poster presentations and Oral Presentations were also organized by the Institute, where participants from different colleges, universities and institutions all over south India had participated. Around 400 posters and 80 Oral presentations were evaluated by nearly 12 Professors from the colleges under JNTU- Hyderabad.
The press and media were also invited to cover the event and they interviewed delegates from different Institutes and colleges.
During the valedictory function which was honored by Dr. Lingaiah Nagarapu, Principal Scientist, CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, awards were presented to the winners of the posters and Oral presentations from different departments in the field of Pharmacy.
