Avanthi Avanthi Educational Society started its journey under the eminent Leadership of Sri M. Srinivasa Rao Garu, Member of Parliament, Anakapalli. Under his chairmanship, the group has made a remarkable stride in the field of education offering several courses in Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Engineering and Pharmacy Programs. Avanthi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in the academic year 2007–08 with the approval of AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to JNTU, Hyderabad.

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) is the Central Drug Authority for discharging functions assigned to the Central Government under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. CDSCO has six zonal offices, four sub-zonal offices, 13 port offices and seven laboratories under its control.
