Pharmaceutical Chemistry

The PES’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College Of Pharmacy is housed in a serene and lush green environment. The infrastructure includes the Administrative office, Well equipped laboratories, Tutorial rooms, Classrooms with Audiovisual facilities, Computer lab, Central instrumentation room , Pilot plant, CPCSEA approved Animal house, Computer Aided Drug Design lab, Placement cell, Library, Auditorium and one of its kind Pharmaceutical Museum.  The designing and planning of labs has been done as per AICTE norms.

IIIM Jammu has created a State-of-the-Art National Facility for small and medium scale manufacturers from north India and the state of J&K in particular to get their products manufactured under GMP/GLP conditions besides its use for research in IIIM. In 2007, CSIR-IIIM started a project to set up cGMP Herbal Drugs extraction unit with the financial assistance of CSIR under Network project. The infrastructure for setting up the facility involved the existing building site at IIIM Jammu.  The plant was designed by Chemical Engineering Division of IIIM and fabrication and installation work was carried out by M/s Bio-Chem Engineers- Pune on turnkey basis. Before the completion of the project, it was thought desirable to also include Formulation and Packaging unit.

The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.

Rani Chenamma College of Pharmacy managed by KRET Bangalore, B. Pharm institution is being established in 2006 at Vaibhav Nagar Belgaum.  It is situated at a strategic and ideal place in Karnataka bordering state of Maharashtra and Goa. Belgaum is a neat and clean with moderate climatic conditions having many educational institutions of higher learning, like medical, Pharmacy, Dental, Engineering etc. From all over the country students come to Belgaum for better education.

Spectrum Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research (SIPSAR) is established in Greater Noida under the aegis of Delhi International Educational Society (IDEA). Whose founder is Mr. Sorabh Gupta. He is B. Tech and M. Tech from IIT. The society has a strong industrial base & is backed by highly qualified academicians from IIT, FMS, etc. IDEA has the vision to develop SIPSAR to international scales in time and mature it up as a platform for international industrial-linkage. The term Pharmacy is derived from the Greek word "pharmakon", meaning drug. Pharmacy is an ever growing, dynamic, highly specialized and scientific, health oriented, patient-focused and research-based section of healthcare delivery system requiring precise expertise and technical skills.

The Nagpur University was established on 4th August, 1923 with six affiliated colleges and 927 students. During 1947, the number of students increased to about 9000 accompanied by the improvement and diversification of curricula and expansion in the range of subjects. The expansion of library and sports facilities occurred during these years for the intellectual and physical well being of the students. It was in 1958 that some new Departments in Arts and Social Science faculties were opened; the major expansion, however, came in 1963 when several science and other teaching Departments were started. The Departments were shifted to spacious buildings in the main campus in 1972-73. In later years, several career oriented courses have been started viz., Business Management, Fine Arts, Mass Communication, Library Science, Physical Education, etc.
