  • At a time when India is struggling with rising number of dengue cases with each passing year, the Mexican government has approved the world's first anti-dengue vaccine which is designed to protect people in the 9-45 age group from nine to 45 years from all four subtypes of the virus.

  • Shri Ananth Kumar said that he is also pushing for the idea for a separate Ministry of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices, so as to give a boost to the sector at the Annual Conference of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices in New Delhi. It plays important role in promotion, encouragement, enabling atmosphere and regulation in a good measure so that quality affordable drugs are available to the common masses of the country, as per minister.

  • (NewsVoir); Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad inaugurated the ‘Center for Healthcare Entrepreneurship’, an interdisciplinary center focused on making universal healthcare a reality. The Center was inaugurated by Sri K.T.   • Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Friday said the government has taken some decisive initiatives to accelerate the number of organ donations and to open organ transplant facilities at all major government hospitals.

  • The Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Shri Ananth Kumar has announced the setting up of National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) in Jhalawar, Rajasthan. Speaking at the Resurgent Rajasthan function in Jaipur today, he said that the Government will invest Rs 500 crore in this international level institute which will come up in two years.

  • The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the proposal of the Department of Health Research in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for setting up of a National Resource Facility for Bio-medical Research (NARF) at Genome Valley in Hyderabad by the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR).
