Over 20,000 chemists' shops across Madhya Pradesh remained shut on Wednesday in the wake of a nationwide call for a shutdown to protest the online sale of drugs.

Over 6,800 chemist shops across Delhi and its adjoining areas were shut on Wednesday following the nationwide strike by the All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) to protest against the online sale of drugs.

Over 25,000 chemists in Rajasthan went on strike on Wednesday against the Centre's move to allow the sale of medicines on the internet.

 Thousands of chemists shops across Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh remained closed on Wednesday, following the nation-wide shutdown call given by the All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists to protest against the online sale of drugs.
