The State of Uttarakhand came into existence on 09th November, 2000 under the Reorganisation of Uttar Pradesh Act 2000. The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission was Constituted under the provisions of the Article 315 of the Constitution of India by the Governor of Uttarakhand vide Notification No. 247/1Karmik 2001 dated 14 th March, 2001. The Commission came into existence on 15 May, 2001.

The Gujarat Public Service Commission was constituted under article 315(1) of the constitution of India has defined function of the public service commission in which one of the most significant power listed is the power as an advisory. It can give advice to the president and the governors of any state in.  As per the provision of the Constitution of India formation of the Gujarat Public Service Commission has been made on 01-05-1960.

The KPSC is a body created by the Constitution of India.

The Union Public Service Commission commonly abbreviated as UPSC, is Indias premier central recruiting agency. It is responsible for appointments to and examinations for All India services and group A & group B of Central services. While Department of Personnel and Training is the central personnel agency in India.  The agency's charter is granted by Part XIV of the Constitution of India, titled as Services Under the Union and the States.

The history of Constitution of India reveals that the concept of conducting competitive examination for appointment to certain posts came into consideration way back in the year 1853 and a committee for giving shape to that was constituted under the chairmanship of Lord Macaulay in the year 1854. Later on the Federal Public Service Commission and the State Public Service Commissions were constituted under the Government of India Act, 1935.

The Nagaland Public Service Commission was set up in 1965 with a composition of one Chairman and two Members. The composition was revised in 1985 by addition of more Member. In 2007 the strength of members of the Commission was increased to 4 nos. Presently there are 1(one) Chairman and 4(four) Members.
