The Government of West Bengal set up an expert committee on December 31, 1998, under the Chairmanship of Ashesh Prasad Mitra, Eminent Scientist to explore the necessity and scope for establishment of an Engineering / Technology University in the stste of West Bengal.  The University came into operation formally with the assumption of the office of the first Vice Chancellor on January 15, 2001 as a sequel to the promulgation of THE WEST BENGAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY ACT, 2001, under West Bengal Act XV of 2000 passed by the West Bengal Legislature.

Ranchi College of Pharmacy was started in 1988 at Ranchi,the institute offers course D. Pharmacy of two years and B Pharmacy 4 years duration with the approval of Pharmacy Council of India New Delhi. To meet the growing demand of Pharmacist in Health Centre, Hospitals, Pharmaceuticals industries and Medical stores. Ranchi is capital of Jharkhand all round its hilly region terrain.

Agra Public group of Education (APGE) is the oldest and largest group of Agra which was established by Late Shri P.L Sharma in 1965 under the flagship of Agra Public Education Society. In the year 1999, Agra Public Institute of Tech. & Computer Education was started in a 05 acres campus at Artoni-Agra. APGE aims to meet the demand for professionals in the increasingly complex business and computing industry.

The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.

The Government of India through an Act of Parliament (as per notification dated 26th June, 1998) established the first National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) in the country at S.A.S Nagar (Mohali) as a Centre of Excellence for imparting higher education, research, and development in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Management. During the years 2007 and 2008, the Government of India established six more NIPERs.

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) at S.A.S Nagar (Mohali) created as a Centre of Excellence for imparting higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences and management is the first Institute of its kind in the country. The Institute was declared as an Institute of National Importance by Government of India through an Act of Parliament, notified on 26th June 1998. The Institute is a member of the Association of Indian Universities.

Established in 2018, The Somany College of Pharmacy is approved by AICTE and Pharmacy Council of India and affiliated by HSBTE. Somany College of Pharmacy is established under aegis of Swantantrata Senani R.D Somany. Somany Sansthan which has started this SCP a prestigious Institute with the objective of starting or rendering quality education in the field of Pharmacy also and thus produce, pharmacists useful to the society is a commitment under taken by the college.
