Shivaji University, established in 1962, is named after the Great Maratha Warrior and founder of the Maratha empire Chhatrapati Shivaji. It was inaugurated on 18th November, 1962 by Dr. Radhakrishnan, the then President of India. One of the major objectives behind foundation of this University was to cater to the regional needs of South Maharashtra. The jurisdiction of the University is spread over three districts viz.

The year was 1993 when T. John College with its premises in Campbell Road, Austin Town, Bangalore began functioning. The college started by Dr. Thomas P. John offered a 3 year BHM Degree course to 24 students. Since a humble beginning in 1993, there has been no looking back. And every year the college crosses new milestones. The college premises have expanded to include new departments and blocks.

Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar, came into existence, fulfilling the long cherished dream of people of Mahabubnagar dstrict in the 'year 2008, toy Act No 29 of 2008 enacted toy the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh and published In the Andhra Pradesh Gazette on 24th September, 2008. Prior to this, the University was formally launched toy the G O.Ms, No 89, Higher Education (U E ll).

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an ‘Institute of National Importance’.

The Kurukshetra University was established in 1956 as a unitary residential University and its foundation stone was laid by late Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India.
