The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), an apex body for the formulation, coordination and development of research in Ayurveda on scientific lines was established in March 1978 after reorganization of Central Council for Research Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy. The Minister of Health & Family Welfare is the President of the Governing Body of the Council, while the Joint Secretary chairs the Standing Finance Committee. The Scientific/Research Programmes are supervised by the Scientific Advisory Board.

The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.

Rani Chenamma College of Pharmacy managed by KRET Bangalore, B. Pharm institution is being established in 2006 at Vaibhav Nagar Belgaum.  It is situated at a strategic and ideal place in Karnataka bordering state of Maharashtra and Goa. Spectrum Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research (SIPSAR) is established in Greater Noida under the aegis of Delhi International Educational Society (IDEA). Whose founder is Mr. Sorabh Gupta. He is B. Tech and M. Tech from IIT. The society has a strong industrial base & is backed by highly qualified academicians from IIT, FMS, etc. IDEA has the vision to develop SIPSAR to international scales in time and mature it up as a platform for international industrial-linkage. The term Pharmacy is derived from the Greek word "pharmakon", meaning drug. Pharmacy is an ever growing, dynamic, highly specialized and scientific, health oriented, patient-focused and research-based section of healthcare delivery system requiring precise expertise and technical skills.

The Nagpur University was established on 4th August, 1923 with six affiliated colleges and 927 students. During 1947, the number of students increased to about 9000 accompanied by the improvement and diversification of curricula and expansion in the range of subjects. The expansion of library and sports facilities occurred during these years for the intellectual and physical well being of the students. It was in 1958 that some new Departments in Arts and Social Science faculties were opened; the major expansion, however, came in 1963 when several science and other teaching Departments were started. The Departments were shifted to spacious buildings in the main campus in 1972-73. In later years, several career oriented courses have been started viz., Business Management, Fine Arts, Mass Communication, Library Science, Physical Education, etc.

Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal. The dream of HP government finally came true in 1983 when the foundation stone of this National lab was laid as CSIR Complex Palampur by Prof. Nurul Hasan, former Vice President of CSIR, with then Chief Minister of HP chairing the function.
