Retired Armed Forces personnel till 2002 could avail medical facilities only for specific high cost surgery/treatment for a limited number of diseases covered under the Army Group Insurance(Medical Branch Scheme) (AGI(MBS)) and Armed Forces Group Insurance Scheme(Management Information System) (AFGIS (MIS)) schemes. These medicare schemes could provide some relief to the ESM, but it was not a comprehensive scheme as compared to and available for other Central Government Employees.

NEIGRIHMS was established by the Government of India in 1987. It has been designed as a Postgraduate Medical Institute in lineage of AIIMS, New Delhi and PGIMER, Chandigarh. It is the First Postgraduate Medical Institute in the North Eastern Region and the Third in the Country established by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the recruitment to the post of Lab Technicians and Pharmacists to work under the control of Director of Public Health and Family Welfare, T.S., Hyderabad subject to condition they will be terminated whenever direct recruitment is made to the post. The selection process will be done through District Selection Committee headed by the District Collector and for a period up to 31.003.2022 or till the actual need ceases whichever is earlier.
