DEEP is a Secular, Not‐for‐Profit, Non Government Organisation promoted by Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited and is being set up for Social Development with the active participation of local communities. DEEP operates in 18 villages of Mangrol taluka and 5 villages of Mandvi taluka in Surat District and 6 villages of Valia taluka in Bharuch District. Even though the organization is concentrating in these 29 villages, it also caters to felt needs of villages outside the program area as a goodwill gesture.
