  • Recruitment for Research Officer at THSTI | Emoluments upto Rs 52000/- pm

    Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), an autonomous research institute supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI), USA are seeking a Program Director for their new joint collaborative program to accelerate and advance HIV vaccine research and development. The program shall be an integral part of the THSTI’s research activities and will be closely linked to global network of R&D facilities, including IAVIs Neutralizing Antibody Consortium (NAC) and IAVI Design and Development lab, situated in Brooklyn, New York. The Design Lab examines novel AIDS vaccine platforms and immunogens, standardizes preclinical testing of AIDS vaccine candidates, and develops candidates for evaluation in clinical trials.

    Maharshi Dayanand University, ab initio established as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1976 with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the name of a great visionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand. It had a unitary and residential character in its nascent stage, but became an affiliating University in November 1978. The University secured the recognition of University Grants Commission – the higher education regulatory body of India - for central Govt. grants in Feb. 1983.

  • Applications are invited for Senior Research Fellow at National Institute of Immunohaematology

    This centre which was started by ICMR basically to solve problems in blood banking, slowly branched out successfully to initiate research in various other related areas of immunohaematology viz. biochemical genetics, red cell enzymopathies and hemoglobinopathies, population genetics, antenatal serology, Immunology, HLA etc. In the first twenty five years, using limited space, limited resources and budget, talented and highly enthusiastic young scientists from the center under the guidance of dynamic stalwarts Dr. H M Bhatia and Dr. A J Baxi could produce as many as 271 publications of which 71 were published in prestigious international journals. The centre had many discoveries to it's credit. Seeing this progress, ICMR decided to rechristen BGRC as 'Institute of Immunohaematolgy' at the time of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Institute in 1982 to accommodate all the departments of the centre under one roof.

    The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) is a growing phenomenon. Located in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala, RGCB began in 1990 amongst humble surroundings as a small charitable society called the Centre for Development of Education, Science and Technology (C-DEST). In 1991, recognizing its potential, the C-DEST was made a “Grant-in-Aid” institute of the Government of Kerala and renamed as Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Development of Education, Science and Technology (RGC-DEST), becoming the first institute in the country to be named after Sri Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minster of India.

    Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Project Fellow in a KSCSTE funded metagenomics project entitled "Geospatial scale metagenomic profiling of mass-transit systems in Kerala" in the Laboratory of Dr. Shijulal Nelson-Sathi at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, BIC, KINFRA Campus, Kazhakkuttom, Thiruvananthapuram. Major focus of the project is to reconstruct the microbial communities present in the urban settings and understand its impact on spreading infectious disease.
