The Regional Centre of Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (RCIBSD) is established under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India in order to utilize the rich bioresources including plants, animals and microbial resources of the Sikkim Himalayas through scientific interventions for economic benefit of the region.

National Development (Clinical) Services Agency (NDSA) formed by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt.

The Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India and The Wellcome Trust, London, UK have established a partnership to fund biomedical research in India. Operated as an independent, public charitable trust, based in Hyderabad, The goal of the India Alliance is to deliver a programme of research fellowship schemes aimed at supporting current and future leaders of Indian biomedical science and clinical or public health researchers.

The setting up of a separate Department of Biotechnology (DBT), under the Ministry of Science and Technology in 1986 gave a new impetus to the development of the field of modern biology and biotechnology in India. In more than a decade of its existence, the department has promoted and accelerated the pace of development of biotechnology in the country. Through several R&D projects, demonstrations and creation of infrastructural facilities a clear visible impact of this field has been seen.

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a public private partnership that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups. PHFI is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training, research and policy development in the area of Public Health.

Mahatma Gandhi University, one of the four affiliating universities in Kerala, is the premier educational institution that strives to fulfil the higher educational needs of the people of Central Kerala. Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal.

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) is the country's premier national Institute for agricultural research, education and extension. It has served the cause of science and society with distinction through first rate research, generation of appropriate technologies and development of human resources. In fact, the Green Revolution was born in the fields of IARI and our graduates constitute the core of the quality human resource in India's agricultural research and education.
