The CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute is amongst one of the constituent research institutes of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. Originally set up as the National Botanic Gardens (NBG) by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh  it was taken over by the CSIR in 1953.

Bengal College of Pharmaceutical Science & Research was established in the year 2008 by SKS Educational and Social Trust, having an impressive campus and is dedicated to develop and nurture pharmaceutical education and research. The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt.
