Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI) originally proposed to be named as Central Glass & Silicate Research Institute is one of the first four laboratories decided to be set up under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, the other three being National Chemical Laboratory,Pune; National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi and Central Fuel Research Institute, Dhanbad. Even though it started functioning in a limited way in 1944, the Institute was formally inaugurated on August 26, 1950.

Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal. The dream of HP government finally came true in 1983 when the foundation stone of this National lab was laid as CSIR Complex Palampur by Prof. Nurul Hasan, former Vice President of CSIR, with then Chief Minister of HP chairing the function.

Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology (KMIO), Bangalore is a Regional Cancer Centre (RCCs). KMIO is arecognised exclusive tertiary cancer care centre cum academic and research institutes, delivering modern health care by groups of trained professionals and paraprofessionals coming together as interdisciplinary teams and has facilities for advanced medical investigation and treatment. KMIO was accorded RCC statuson 1st Nov 1980 by Government of India and is a member of UICC and recognised by WHO. KMIO is State Government Autonomous Institute. The Indian Council of Medical Research has recognised this referral Institution as a research organization.

The Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) was established in 2009 along with other new Central Universities by an Act of Parliament (No 25, of 2009). The University is now accredited with 'A' grade from NAAC. It is credited with highest per capita research funding. The university has a mission of providing wide range of instructional and research facilities across integrated and cross-disciplines, promote innovation in teaching, learning and research, and cross-pollinate new ideas, new technologies and new world-views. It aims to create an ignited workforce responsive to regional, national and global needs in tune with the requirements of academia, industry and business. The university started in a three-room Camp Office provided by the state administration in March 2009. Making a modest but speedy start, the university accepted on rent, a dilapidated campus of 37 acres of an abandoned co-operative spinning mill on Mansa Road, Bathinda.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) invites application for position of Research Fellows to work in collaboration with National Institutes of Health (NIH)/CRDF sponsored research project in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal. Selected research fellows will work on development of TB Portal in Indian populations which is an initiation for International partnership for clinical informatics and advanced research in tuberculosis.
