This Institute was established in the year from 1963 in IMPCOPS, Chennai with a motive to study the phyto-chemical aspects of medicinal plants in an around the city. Later Central Council for Research in Indian Medicine and Homeopathy had taken over this Institute as grant in aid. In the year of 1979, this institute became a part of Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (formerly Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic and Siddha). This institute had diversified its activities to drug standardization besides phyto-chemical studies.

Sri Lakshminarayan College of Pharmacy was established in the year 2017. It is completely owned and administered by the Institution of SRI LAKSHMI NARAYAN EDUCATIONAL TRUST registered under the trust Registration Act of Tamilnadu. Ever since its inception, the Institute grew from strength to strength starting with diploma and degree in pharmacy and gaining the full-fledged pharmacy college status in Dharmapuri.

Since its setting up in 2015, Annai J.K.K.Sampoorani Ammal Charitable Trust has three decades experience in running educational institutions to achieve high level record in providing quality education to the students' community. This institution provides requisite infrastructure in all disciplines and a team of well qualified and experienced faculty. In addition to this, we encourage sports and games activities among the students (Both boys & girls).

Karnataka Antibiotics & Pharmaceuticals Limited, (KAPL) Bengaluru is a Government of India Enterprise.  Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Limited is a Joint Sector Company of Government of India with 59.17% of shareholding and 40.83% from Government of Karnataka through Karnataka State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC).  From a modest beginning in 1984, KAPL has grown exponentially in the areas of manufacturing and marketing of various life saving and essential drugs.

The seed for the establishment and growth of TANUVAS was sown as early as 1876, when the Madras Veterinary College was started as an Agricultural School in Chennai to offer diploma and certificate course in the field of veterinary and animal sciences. The institute attained the status of a college in the year 1903 (01.10.1903), when it started functioning at Dobbin Hall, Chennai and admitted 20 students for a three-year diploma course called GMVC (Graduate of Madras Veterinary College).

BPPI is the implementing agency for Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. The objective of the scheme is to make available quality generic medicines at affordable prices to all.
