The Regional Research Institute for Siddha in Puducherry was established on 22nd August, 1979. Phase I of the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) in Meghalaya was taken up during the last quarter of 1993-94. Actual implementation of the Programme could begin only in March 1994.
