The Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur (Formerly Kanpur University, Kanpur) was established in the year 1966. Prior to the establishment of the University, affiliation of colleges in its vicinity were to the Agra University. In the year 1949, the Radha Krishnan Commission suggested the establishment of a university in Kanpur with the aim of reducing the pressure on Agra University. To fulfil this demand, in the year 1966, the state government established Kanpur University under the Kanpur and Meerut Universities Act 1965 with the moto “Aroh Tamso Jyoti” (Rise from darkness to light). In the preamble it is stated that Kanpur University will initially have an affiliating character but will gradually assume the shape of residential University. The University proudly celebrate its 57th foundation day on February 9 every year.

General Instructions
1. The University reserves the right to:
a. Withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without assigning any reason thereof.
b. Not to fill up any of the advertised positions,
c. Increase or decrease the number of posts.
2. The Qualifications, Pay Scales and other Conditions for the advertised positions shall be in accordance with the UGC Regulations-2018/AICTE-2019/PCI notification No. 14-163/2021-PCI/12730, date: 08.08.2022 and U.P. State Government's rules in this regard.
3. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying, that they possess Essential Qualifications as laid down in the Advertisement.
4. The selection procedure for teaching positions shall be as laid down by the Chancellor Secretariat's Office Orders 2021 and UGC Regulations 2018 on 'Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff.

Candidates who have been awarded Ph.D. from foreign Universities should enclose "Equivalence Certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, without which their candidature will not be considered and application will be rejected. However, the persons who have acquired Ph.D. degree from Foreign University through nomination by MHRD’s Foreign Scholarship Programme will be exempted from the Equivalency Certificate.
8. The online application process shall start on 14 January, 2026 and the last date for filling online application is 23 February, 2026.
9. The application process is online only. However, print out of online application along with photocopy of relevant certificate(s) and document(s) in support of educational qualification and service experience should be submitted to the office of the Registrar, CSJMU, Kanpur in a sealed, envelope by registered/speed post. The Sealed Envelope should be super scribed with a heading: “Application for the post of < Name & Discipline of the post>...........”. The hardcopy of the application send by registered/ speed post must reach to the office of the Registrar
within 05 days from the last date for online submission of the application i.e. 28 February, 2026.
10. Application, incomplete in any respect and without relevant Certificates/Documents/Photographs/Orders, as desired or without Requisite Fee will be rejected.

11. The application fee is Rs. 2500/- (Rs, 2000/- for SC/ST candidates only) which will be paid online along with online application.
12. Application fee once submitted is non-refundable.
13. Candidate applying for more than one positions shall apply separately and must submit application fee for each application.
14. The reservation for the posts will be as per the U.P. Govt, norms.
15. SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR stands for Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Section and Unreserved category respectively.
16. SC/ST candidates must enclose with the Application a 'hard copy of the Caste Certificate on prescribed Format of the Government of U P., duly issued by the Competent Authority.
17. OBC (Non-creamy Layer) candidates must enclose with the Application a hard copy of the Caste Certificate/Income Certificate on prescribed Format of the Government of U.P., duly issued by the Competent Authority on or after 01 October, 2025.
18. EWS candidates are required to submit a certificate in prescribed format of the Government of U.P.. duly issued by the Competent Authority on or after 01 October, 2025.
19. A candidate already in employment is required to submit the No Objection Certificate' preferably at the time of submitting online application form. However in any situation he/she will not be permitted to appear in the interview without submitting the no objection certificate from his present employer.
20. Experience and Qualifications will be reckoned as on the last date of submission of application form.
21. The service conditions and age of superannuation shall be as per U.P. State Govt, norms.
22. No 'Interim Correspondence' shall be entertained.

B. Application Fees: Candidates have to pay application fee Rs. 2500/- (Rs. 2000/- for SC/ST candidates only) fee tlii'ough 'Online Transaction' along with online application.
C. Documents required to be submitted with Online Application:
i. Candidates should submit (pdf of scanned copies) of all the supporting documents for all the claims made in the Online Application, viz Eligibility, Achievements; Publications (only first page) etc. along with the proof of the Impact Factor of the Peer Reviewed Journals, Refereed Joumals/UGC Approved Journals of each research paper, which has been included in the Academic Score claimed (each page duly signed)
ii. Candidates are suggested to upload a merged single PDF file for Mark sheets and Certificate/Degree for respective educational qualifications, wherever required.
iii. Candidates are suggested to compile first page (only) of all the research papers, conference proceedings, seminar/symposia/conference abstract, books and book chapters, policy documents, etc. as PDF file and upload on the portal.
iv. Candidates are suggested to merge the supporting documents for multiple research projects, patents, consultancy, awards, etc., respectively, as PDF files and upload on the portal.
v. Other documents can be uploaded in "Other" section"
vi. The University will get verified all the documents in support of qualifications, experience etc. submitted by candidate, from the issuing authority. If any document is found to be false/fake/incorrect at any stage of verification before or after appointment, the document in question shall lead to termination of his/her appointment.
vii. While filling online application form candidates are suggested to fill absolute numerical values rather than in decimal or in fractions,
