With effect from such date, as the State Government  may notify in this behalf, there shall be established at Saifai in district Etawah an Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, to be known as the Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research,Saifai, and all the assets, liabilities and employees of the Satellite Centre of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Sciences already functioning at  Saifai, Etawah under section 3 of the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Sciences Act, 1983 ( U.P . Act no .30 of 1983) shall deemed to be of the said Institute.

The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is an autonomous Grant-in-aid Institution of the Department of Atomic Energy. The TMC is comprised of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) and the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH). The TMC conducts Ph.D. program in Life Sciences and Health Sciences and is affiliated to the Homi Bhabha National Institute (Deemed University). On-going research at TMC includes basic, Epidemiological and translational work in Cancer.

The Visiting Students' Research Programme (VSRP-2014) will be held at TIFR, Mumbai during the period May 12 to July 9, 2014.

Participants are paid a monthly stipend of Rs 7000/-, Sleeper class return railway fare and are provided with shared hostel accommodation.
