Research and development activities from the lifeline of a vibrant academic institution. Dean R&D and IRCC play a vital role in IITB’s intellectual output by providing end-to-end support, from conceptualization to commercialization, of research ideas, specifically by Ensuring that environment is created/ nurtured/ maintained so that faculty and scientists at IITB are able to conduct research of the highest caliber.

Shri AMM Murugappa Chettiar Research Centre, popularly known as MCRC, is a non profit research organisation registered under Societies Registration Act (ACT XXI of 1860; S.No. 298; 21st September, 1973, Chennai) with registered office at No.3 old no: 2, Sriram nagar north street, Alwarpet Chennai 600018.

The Laboratory of Molecular Cell Biology belongs to the department of Biology in the group of Science & Technology. This laboratory is also a department of the Flemish Institute for Biotechnology (VIB, vib.be). Prof. Van Dijck is one of the two professors in this unit. An important research topic in his laboratory is the understanding of the development of fungal biofilms. We mainly focus on Candida albicans and Candida glabrata.

One PhD stipend is available in the Proteomics Technology Development & Application group at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR – cpr.ku.dk). The Center has been established at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, to promote basic and applied discovery research on human proteins of medical relevance. The Center comprises a wide range of expertise and resources including proteomics, protein production and characterization to disease mechanisms.

The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.
