    The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) is the new state-of-the-art R&D satellite of the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), which also includes under its umbrella the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), the largest cancer hospital in Asia. ACTREC has the mandate to function as a national centre for treatment, research and education in cancer. TMC is an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act (1860) and the Bombay Public Trust Act (1950). Its Governing Council is headed by the Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission, Government of India.

    Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal. The dream of HP government finally came true in 1983 when the foundation stone of this National lab was laid as CSIR Complex Palampur by Prof. Nurul Hasan, former Vice President of CSIR, with then Chief Minister of HP chairing the function.

    Junior Research Fellow

    Temporary Position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the sponsored research project by Science and Engineering Research Board (Start-Up Research Grant-Young Scientists) on contract basis at Department of Medicinal Chemistry, B. V. Patel PERD Centre, Ahmedabad, as per following details:

    Project Title Design and Synthesis of Novel 7-Aazindole Derivatives as Potent Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) Kinase Inhibitor: A Search for Lung Cancer Drug (File No. YSS/2015/001019)
    Educational Qualifications : M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) or M.Pharm. (Medicinal/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry) with at least 55% marks. CSIR-NET including LS/ GATE/ JAM/ GPAT qualified candidates will be preferred.
    Salary : Fellowship + HRA (As per DST norms).

    The engagement will be initially for a period of one year which may be extended up to three years maximum depending on the duration of the sponsored project/satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee. The appointment will be purely on temporary basis.
