Merck Opens AI-Powered Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru

Merck has inaugurated its new Merck Global Capability Centre (MGCC) in Bengaluru, marking a significant expansion of its global digital and technology operations in India. The new facility, located in Electronic City, is designed to accelerate the company's digital transformation while strengthening India's position as a strategic innovation hub.

Spread across approximately 17,000 square metres, the MGCC is expected to accommodate around 3,300 employees working across a broad range of functions, including Data & Artificial Intelligence (AI), Enterprise Solutions, Business Technology, Automation, Information Technology (IT), and other global support functions. The centre consolidates Merck's existing technology and service operations into a single integrated campus aimed at improving collaboration and operational efficiency.

According to the company, the Bengaluru Global Capability Centre will play an important role in developing digital capabilities, advancing AI-driven solutions, and supporting Merck's global businesses across Healthcare, Life Science, and Electronics. The investment reflects the company's long-term commitment to leveraging India's growing technology talent pool to drive innovation and business transformation.

The new campus has been designed to promote collaboration, employee well-being, and sustainable operations. By bringing together multidisciplinary teams under one roof, Merck aims to accelerate innovation while enhancing the delivery of technology-enabled business solutions worldwide.
