Shares of Indoco Remedies gained 4.12% on Friday after the company announced that its Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) manufacturing facility at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, has received European Union Good Manufacturing Practice (EU GMP) certification from the German Health Authority, Berlin. The regulatory approval is expected to strengthen the company's position in regulated European markets and has been welcomed positively by investors.
The certification follows an inspection conducted between April 22 and April 27, 2026, at the company's Plant III facility in Baddi. The approval confirms that the plant meets stringent European manufacturing and quality standards, allowing Indoco to manufacture and supply pharmaceutical products across EU member countries.
For pharmaceutical companies, EU GMP certification is considered a significant achievement because it opens access to highly regulated markets where compliance standards are among the toughest globally. Such approvals can also improve opportunities for contract manufacturing and strategic partnerships with international pharmaceutical companies.
Commenting on the development, Managing Director Aditi Panandikar stated that the certification reflects Indoco's commitment to maintaining global quality standards and delivering high-quality medicines to patients worldwide.
Investors responded positively to the announcement, with Indoco Remedies shares rising 4.12% during Friday's trading session. The market reaction suggests that investors view the certification as a positive step toward expanding export opportunities and strengthening the company's international regulatory profile.
The latest EU GMP certification is part of a broader trend of positive regulatory achievements for Indoco Remedies over the past year. Earlier in 2026, the company received final USFDA approval for its Brivaracetam Oral Solution, further expanding its product portfolio in the United States. Around the same period, a USFDA inspection of the company's testing facility concluded without any Form 483 observations, highlighting strong compliance standards.
