Research Career for Pharmacy Professionals under Department of Health Research, MOHFW

The Department of Health Research (DHR) was created as a new Department under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare vide Presidential notification dated 17th September 2007 by an amendment to the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961, with the objective of facilitating a well-functioning health research system in the country. To fulfil its assigned mandate, the Department of Health Research runs various schemes as well as looks after the administration of the Indian Council of Medical Research, which is an autonomous body under the Department of Health Research.

Applications are invited from eligible and suitable officers for filling up 2 posts of Scientist F in the Department of Health Research on Deputation (including short-term contract) basis. The posts are being filled under the one-time mode of recruitment approved by the Union Public Service Commission

Pay Scale : Level 13A in the pay matrix (Rs. 1,31,100-2,16,600).
Age Limit : Not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application.

Eligibility Conditions for appointment on deputation (including short term contract) basis :
Officers under Central Government or State Governments or Union territory Administrations or Public Sector Undertakings or recognized Universities or recognized Research Institutions or Autonomous Bodies or Statutory Organizations:
(a) (i) holding analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or
(ii) with two years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in Level 13 in the pay matrix (Rs. 1,23,100-2,15,900) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and
(b) possessing the qualifications and experience as follows:-
(i) Doctor of Medicine (MD)/ Master of Surgery (MS)/ Dipiomate of National Board (DNB) degree recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI)/National Medical Commission (NMC): or
(ii) Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree, recognized by MCI or NMC. with Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) from a recognized University, in Biochemistry or Food and Nutrition or Bioscience or Genetics or Medical Genetics or Immunology or Microbiology or Molecular biology or Pharmacy or Pharmacology or Toxicology or Virology or Biotechnology or Bio-Informatics or Biostatistics or Physiology or Biophysics or Medical Entomology; or
(iii) Masters as well as PhD from a recognized University both in Biochemistry or Food and Nutrition or Bioscience or Genetics or Medical Genetics or Immunology or Microbiology or Molecular biology or Pharmacy or Pharmacology or Toxicology or Virology or Biotechnology or Bio-Informatics or Biostatistics or Physiology or Biophysics or Medical Entomology; or
(iv) Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) with PhD from a recognized University in Biochemistry or Food and Nutrition or Bioscience or Genetics or Medical Genetics or Immunology or Microbiology or Molecular biology or Pharmacy or Pharmacology or Toxicology or Viroiogy or Biotechnology or Bio-Informatics or Biostatistics or Physiology or Biophysics or Medical Entomology; and
(v) 12 years experience (including 3 years of managerial experience) in Research and Development or Teaching or working in public sector or Government recognized institutions or Private Institutions recognized or registered as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Note 1 : The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another Ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other Organization or Department of the Government of India shall ordinarily not exceed five years.
Note 2 : The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding fifty-six years as on last date of receipt of applications.
Note 3 : (a) Having PhD Degree will be considered equivalent to 4 years experience (irrespective of the duration taken to complete the degree).
(b) Having MD or MS Degree will be considered equivalent to 3 years experience (irrespective of the duration taken to complete the degree).
