Allergan Aesthetics, a subsidiary of AbbVie, is showcasing new and long-term clinical evidence supporting its aesthetics portfolio at the Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress (AMWC) in Dubai, held from October 21 to 23, 2026.
The company is presenting eight scientific posters covering HArmonyCa™, JUVÉDERM®, SKINVIVE™ and BOTOX® Cosmetic, alongside educational sessions focused on personalized aesthetic treatment planning and multimodal approaches to facial rejuvenation.
A key highlight is HArmonyCa™, a hybrid injectable combining hyaluronic acid (HA) and calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA). Its dual-action technology is designed to provide an immediate lifting effect through HA while supporting longer-term collagen-stimulating activity through CaHA. The product was recently launched in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
New research presented at the congress includes a subgroup analysis of eight patients taking glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) medications for weight loss. All eight participants treated with HArmonyCa™ showed visible improvement in the midface at three months, according to the company.
The findings offer preliminary clinical evidence on the potential role of aesthetic treatments in addressing facial volume changes associated with medical weight loss. However, the small subgroup means the results should be interpreted cautiously and require further evaluation.
Additional HArmonyCa™ research includes 24-month clinical results from a multicentre, randomized study assessing the safety and effectiveness of the injectable for midface soft-tissue augmentation, as well as research examining its mechanism of action.
The scientific programme also features patient-reported outcomes relating to neck appearance and satisfaction following SKINVIVE™ treatment. Research on long-term, repeated BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment among patients at Middle Eastern study sites examines perceived benefits, satisfaction and reasons for retreatment. According to the company, most patients reported satisfaction with the effects of repeated treatment for upper forehead lines and said they felt younger following treatment. Together, these studies address evolving patient priorities, including skin quality, facial volume, facial lines and treatment satisfaction.
The Allergan Medical Institute is hosting a symposium on the AA Signature™ Lift-Up multimodal approach, with discussions covering regenerative biostimulation, HArmonyCa™ and DART® (Dual Action Rejuvenating Technology). The programme includes a live technique demonstration and an expert panel discussion.
A separate global medical affairs symposium on October 22 brings together experts to discuss advances in neurotoxin science, long-term BOTOX® Cosmetic evidence and natural-looking aesthetic outcomes.
Meet the Expert sessions at the company's booth will also give practitioners opportunities to discuss treatment approaches, facial neurotoxin use and the role of clinical expertise in building patient trust.
The AMWC Dubai programme reflects Allergan Aesthetics' emphasis on integrating products across its portfolio into individualized treatment plans. Rather than focusing on a single procedure, the AA Signature™ approach combines treatments based on patients' needs and aesthetic goals.
The latest findings contribute to the company's broader clinical evidence programme, although further research will be important for establishing the effectiveness and suitability of individual treatments across different patient populations.
